- Art Therapists
I am passionate about my therapeutic approach when working with clients. I understand the complexity of navigating the demands of everyday life, and how at times this can feel unstable or even completely overwhelming. In support of my client’s goals, I believe they’re the expert who is needed to achieve their aspirations. I apply my training in transpersonal psychology and art therapy to guide clients through current challenges or reoccurring themes coming up in their lives. As a therapist I understand the importance of addressing unresolved experiences or past traumas within the safety of a professional setting. I do this by offering a hand of compassionate support to all my clients, and through helping create space for healing and growth to occur naturally. My primary experience is in working with adults, 18 and up who are interested in mindfulness based practices, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin (2005) and my Master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Art Therapy from Naropa University (2015). My education and training have taught me to respect the powerful dynamic between herself and her clients, and that a positive therapeutic experience is ultimately built upon trust, authenticity, and compassion. I believe personal growth takes effort and courage, and that the inward journey leads to a positive space, one where joy, ease, and insight can truly thrive. I recognize the value in working with an experienced guide while addressing topics that deal with life transitions, relationship and self-esteem, motherhood, grief and loss counseling, as well as personal or secondary trauma. Though I am specialized in Art Therapy, this modality doesn’t limit the scope of her therapeutic skills. Ultimately my goal is to help clients develop their own unique expression and to establish a valuable orientation for themselves in the world.
