Tejal Misra
As a psychotherapist, I help individuals and couples overcome their emotional problems and cope with tough situations. Through the unique experience of the therapeutic relationship, I can help individuals develop a better understanding of their struggles and what they need to persevere and persist. Psychotherapy provides a safe place for those to communicate their feelings. I utilize an eclectic therapy approach and tailor that to my client’s needs.
I am graduate of New York University’s Masters in Social Worker program and have eight years of experience. I have my License in Clinical Social Work. I am also trained in Emotion Focused Therapy and modality utilized in couples therapy. My undergraduate background was in Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California Irvine. My experience includes working in community based agencies with a chronic and persistent mentally ill population as well as experience in medical social work. I am skilled in tailoring treatment based on clients’ needs. I have knowledge and awareness of therapeutic processes. I have completed a specialized field-learning program on substance-abuse and co-occurring disorders and have worked with a diverse population of individuals.
I see clients in South Jersey and in Philadelphia by appointment.
