Whether you are struggling with anxiety, grief, emotional numbness, or sense of self; my primary goal is to help you reconnect with your authentic inner self. I aim to provide a space of growth & connection through a decolonized lens. I empower folkx to reconnect with their inner self; reconnect with their core values so that they feel empowered to live their authentic self. I use a holistic approach where I embody mind, body, and spirit. I also incorporate indigenous forms of healing in addition to Western Psychology to help you develop a sense of self that is whole. During our first session together, we will establish a baseline of what is working and build off that. My primary goal is help you develop compassion and grace for yourself; it is from this space where radical growth and healing can be cultivated.
I obtained my masters from Pepperdine University and I began my career in community services. My approach is straight forward and empathic. I identify as a first gen, cis gender Latina of Mexican descent. I offer EMDR, and also incorporate somatic interventions, a systemic framework, attachment theory, and CBT strategies. I love equipping clients with tools and honoring what comes to surface in our sessions together. I love working with adolescents, complex trauma, early adults transitioning in life and adults who struggle with anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse and depression. I work with clients to provide a safe space to explore their current life challenges and work collaboratively with clients. I work with clients to help them find tools they can use to navigate their daily life in a positive and healthy way. I believe you’re the expert of your experience - no one knows your life better than you. Together, we can create a deepened awareness around what’s working, what’s not & what strengths you already have that need nurturing. I work with clients to consider and name how various systems at play impact the life you live and the work we do. I take the role of earning your trust very seriously, and find it an honor to be part of your journey.

The backbone of my work is relational – meaning, the relationship between us is at the core of therapy. My training and experience have led me to believe that therapy is not "one size fits all", nor is it one therapist fits all. I will approach your situation, open to discovering what kind of therapeutic relationship will work for you at this time. I have training and experience in the following methods: CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, PCIT, and Narrative Therapy. After a thorough assessment, I typically like to collaborate with clients on the method that would work best considering the symptoms. In a typical session, clients can expect to feel heard and validated while tackling goals towards a happier life.
I am a registered associate marriage and family therapist and associate professional clinical counselor who offers in in person (Los Angeles) and virtual psychotherapy (California). College can be an overwhelming time, but you don't have to be all alone. Through collaboration and support, I aim to create a warm, supportive space for clients to take a moment for themselves, explore their experiences, and deepen self-understanding. My practice is specifically tailored to each client's needs and goals. I utilize trauma-aware, systemic perspectives with skill-based teachings of CBT and DBT. My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming care.
We all come into therapy for our own reasons. Whatever may have brought you into the room, you will find a compassion based space for growth, self discovery and inner work. Therapy is a collaborative act, where we can explore both who you are and why. I utilize a non-oppressive and non-judgmental approach. I see the therapeutic relationship as a microcosm of your relationships in other areas. We will discuss the therapeutic relationship, examine rupture, and identify patterns in the therapeutic space. I am engaging, intuitive and open to discuss the latest episode of Love is Blind or True Detective.
As a therapist, I pride myself in the confidentiality and the general skills I can offer you like any other therapist. However, what you can expect with my practice goes beyond the standard therapeutic experience. My practice is person-centered and non-judgmental across several subjects, domains, circumstances, and themes. I also pride myself in being multi-dimensional in identity politics; I am Trans-Affirmative, LGBTQ+ Affirmative, Sex-positive, Body positive, Kink-positive, and more. I approach the world and my work from a lens of inclusivity rather than exclusivity. We all deserve quality care regardless of how we identify. Reach out for your free consult. Please be aware that while this site asks me to include my initial and ongoing session fees, it does not allow me to clarify my sliding scale; please feel free to inquire about that if needed. I would be honored to take this journey with you!

I believe that we all have an innate healing power within us, and that developing a safe and caring relationship with a therapist can be a wonderful means toward enlivening this power. By going within, we can discover the agency to overcome any obstacle and can bring into being a renewed sense of hope, purpose, and a life of fulfillment. I come from a holistic, humanistic, and mindfulness/spiritually-oriented tradition who believe that a therapist is only as skilled as they are evolved, or self-actualized themselves. I specialize in trauma, dissociation, & complex post traumatic stress disorder. I have trained in EMDR and utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ketamine as a means of accessing the Self. I work with adults and children alike, and enjoy incorporating meditation, art, and play therapy. As a former creative producer with 20 years in entertainment, I also receive a great deal of satisfaction working with artists in the industry. I provide a warm and compassionate space of acceptance that encourages growth to unfold. By expressing feelings openly and connecting authentically we learn to resolve family and relationship issues naturally. Inevitably, this clears a path for greater intimacy with oneself and others, uncovering the full measure of our potential for love and joy.

Let's help you learn a variety of coping and parenting skills to support you in feeling confident as an individual or as a parent while developing healthy communication within your relationships. In therapy, we will spend time exploring your history, concerns, strengths, and areas of growth. We will then work together to develop an individualized way to support you in the growth that you want to see in yourself. You will learn a variety of new tools and skills to manage anxiety or stress, decrease self-criticism, improve self-esteem, increase self-confidence, set healthy boundaries, learn new ways to communicate, or learn new parenting skills. Emphasis will then be placed on learning how to implement these into your everyday life.
As a therapist and Board-Certified Psychiatrist, I strive to approach each individual with empathy, curiosity, and respect. My extensive work with people from diverse economic, gender, sexual, cultural, and racial backgrounds gives me a unique lens through which I understand the complexities of human behavior, mental health, and healing. Our mental health is not only influenced by individual experiences but also by the broader context of society, culture, and history. This holistic perspective allows me to connect with clients in a meaningful way and offer individualized approaches to the healing journey. I received my Medical Degree from NYU School of Medicine, and completed my residency training in Psychiatry at UCLA-Olive View in Los Angeles. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress management. I believe in the power of healing—whether through therapy, medications, or a combination of approaches. While medication is not for everyone, I have seen it play a crucial role in treatment for many people. If we determine that it would be beneficial to try a medication, we will thoroughly discuss the risks and benefits before starting. There will be regular check-ins to ensure it is serving its purpose. And ultimately the decision about whether or not to take a medication I prescribe is yours and yours alone.
ADHD is more than just "having difficulty focusing," and no, not "everyone has a little bit of ADHD" as many people claim nowadays. The impact of ADHD is pervasive and can keep you from reaching your goals, connecting with others, maintaining a routine despite knowing that it would be helpful, and constantly "masking" for fear that you will not be accepted as you are. Life administrative tasks feel daunting and get postponed repeatedly, and the negative self-talk that ensues as a result takes a further toll and increases avoidance. I can help you understand the brain science of ADHD, incorporate aspects of mindfulness, somatic work, and other modalities to overcome these challenges, and regain your mental energy. You'll learn to work with your neurodivergence, NOT against it. I work from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, lens and am mindful about how culture, immigration journeys and systemic racism play a role in how someone compensates for their ADHD.
