Welcome! Ahlan Wa Sahlan! I know how difficult it can be to begin this journey, so I'm glad you are here. I focus on providing care for women and femmes, migrants and refugees, children of migrants, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. I am committed to supporting survivors of traumatic experiences as they navigate their healing journeys. Whether you are coming in with experiences of PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, or other trauma-related symptoms, I am delighted to navigate this road with you. I believe each person I work with deserves an approach that is uniquely tailored to them, so my therapeutic approach is an eclectic one. I have received robust training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic psychotherapy. You can expect therapy with me to be open, warm, and curious. That means providing a safe container for all of your thoughts, feelings and experiences without shame. I am also a strong believer that none of us exist in isolation from the many systems we live within. All of your identities are welcome here, and your cultural heritage(s) will be embraced.
You may be feeling marginalized or misunderstood by your church community and loved ones if your gender or sexuality don't fall into historically traditional norms. Or you might feel alone in your process if you are deconstructing your faith because there isn't a safe space to express doubts or ask faith-related questions. Or you might be feeling completely burned out in your ministry leadership role with nowhere to turn. If any of these scenarios describe you, you need a safe space to fully express all aspects of who you are and what you're experiencing in order to align with your values.
I practice therapy as a genuine partnership—collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence. If anxiety, low mood, exhaustion, relationship challenges, or life changes are weighing on you, we’ll co-create practical, values-aligned goals and build skills you can use right away. Trinette, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), emphasizes collaboration with her patients in treating psychiatric disorders and managing medications. She partners with them, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and supportive and talk therapy to meet their unique needs. Together, they explore CBT techniques, where Trinette guides patients to identify and reframe distorted thoughts—say, tackling anxiety-driven fears—co-creating strategies that empower them to cope. In MI, she works alongside patients, sparking their motivation to embrace treatment plans, like sticking to meds or therapy for depression, ensuring their voice drives the process. Through supportive talk therapy, Trinette and her patients jointly unpack emotions, building trust as they process challenges like trauma, reinforcing their resilience as a team. In medication management, collaboration shines: Trinette assesses symptoms and histories with patient input, designing psychopharmacological plans together. She explains options—perhaps adjusting an antipsychotic for bipolar disorder—while they monitor effects and tweak dosages as a unit, balancing efficacy and comfort. For instance, a patient with OCD might co-develop a plan blending CBT for obsessions and a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, refining it based on shared feedback. This partnership fosters ownership, as patients feel heard and respected. By merging these therapies with tailored medication, Trinette and her patients collaboratively address mind and body, paving the way for sustainable mental wellness through mutual effort and understanding.

Many times people are taught to "suck it up", and often people compare their lives to others and think "it could be worse." However these lessons and these thoughts do not often result in feeling better. Often I work with people who put on a mask that they feel they are not allowed to take down in front of others. We work together to realize that strategies that have taken you this far, tend to stop working at some point. I do not give advice, because at the end of the day, you are in charge of where you want to go and what steps you want to take. But what I can promise, is that I'm willing to walk along side you, you can test the water out and if it does not feel safe you do not have to go in, but if it's something that you want to slowly explore, we can create a space together to do so. Asking for help is a strength, although it is not always told to us. You've made it this far! Feel free to send me an email or give me a call and you can share what has been going on and we can see if you want me to join you on your walk.
