I believe healing your relationships with others starts by healing your relationship with yourself. I guide clients through the healing process by providing the tools needed to connect with yourself, your body, and the world around you. Through therapy, I believe it is possible to improve your self-esteem, grow interpersonal relationships, and end negative thought patterns. I am passionate about providing an accessible therapy experience by operating from a trauma-informed and multicultural lens. When working with couples, I emphasize the importance of communication and empathy and honor the uniqueness and nuance of each individual. I utilize empathy, humor, and curiosity to connect with clients on a genuine, human level. I'm enthusiastic about helping others tackle issues including depression, interpersonal issues, eating disorders, negative self-talk, body image, anxiety, addiction, and self-harm through modalities such as ACT, DBT, CBT, Gottman principles and person-centered therapy. The first step of a long journey is always the most challenging. I encourage you to reach out for help and allow me to meet you along your route- to help guide you towards inner-peace and healing. I want to build upon the "traditional" therapy experience- in addition to telehealth and in-office sessions, I also offer connection through movement and nature.
I use a holistic and intuitive counseling approach incorporating mind, body, and spirit to help clients develop ways to shine light into their lives. My practice addresses anxiety, self-worth, boundaries, relationship issues, spirituality, and for anyone adjusting to difficult changes (especially in our current pandemic). My passion is helping people to empower their lives so they can align with their own passion and purpose. I believe people have an inner guidance system that offers infinite possibilities. I provide a grounded, sacred energy during sessions that can help to connect with this wisdom. I enjoy using therapeutic techniques such as: inner child work, images, symbolism, dreamwork, energy work and expressive arts.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a Master’s degree from Boston University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado. Alongside her graduate training, she completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Psychiatry, specializing in Child Development and Infant Mental Health. Over the years, she has sought out additional training to better support her clients, including EMDR (both basic and advanced trainings), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Circle of Security Parenting. While her background is rooted in research and evidence-based practice, she believes therapy is ultimately about human connection. Katie brings a warmth, curiosity, and compassion into every session, creating a safe space for you to feel understood and supported as you work toward lasting growth.

College can bring a lot: new freedom, pressure to succeed, and the stress of figuring out who you are and where you are headed. Many of the students I work with feel weighed down by anxiety, burnout, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the pressure to be perfect. Others are coping with ADHD, past/current trauma, anxiety and social anxiety or just the everyday stress of classes, relationships, and big transitions. With 12 years of experience working in university counseling centers, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges of college and graduate students' lives. In our work together, you will find a supportive space to talk honestly about what is on your mind, learn coping tools to manage stress, and feel more grounded and confident. My goal is to help you feel less alone and more able to handle the challenges of college life.
