You’re carrying a lot right now. Maybe it feels like everything is too much, or maybe you just can’t quite name what feels off, only that something isn’t working the way it used to. You might be standing at a crossroads, unsure which way to go, or trying to move forward while feeling stuck in place. That uncertainty can be exhausting. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to show up with a plan, just a willingness to begin. Together, we’ll slow things down to explore what’s weighing on you, uncover what matters most, and find a way to move forward. I offer individual therapy for folks who are navigating difficult life transitions, exploring their identity, processing complex trauma, or just curious about how their lived experiences shape how they move through the world.
With an integrative approach to practicing therapy modalities, I have a professional focus centered on humanistic, experiential, and mindfulness styles. I utilize Person-Centered Therapy (Client-Centered/Rogerian), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Gestalt Therapy (Experiential), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy. I believe in approaching the therapy relationship in a collaborative and supportive manner to help facilitate the process of growth and change.
Hi! I'm glad you're here. Being a student is not just about learning whatever you're studying; it's also a dynamic time in your life. A time during which you may be learning about yourself and others through new experiences. You may be navigating familiar and unfamiliar challenges, some of which can impact your sense of well-being and your mental health. In my experience, we all need support at times in our lives to overcome obstacles, explore our choices, and to strengthen our relationship with ourselves and others. I am passionate about working with students struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship and family concerns, sexual assault, identity and self-esteem, career and academic struggle, grief and loss, and life transitions. Additionally, I have 5+ years working with students and professionals in the STEM field. Thank you for taking steps to address your mental health by looking into therapy. I work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression or have been through tough times and want to heal from trauma. College specifically can be a difficult time emotionally, moving into adulthood and living on your own for the first time. Therapy can be a great way to process these changes, learn new ways to cope with stress, and get resources and support. I'd love to chat.
Hi, I’m Shannon Gavin, LCSW. I made the move to Colorado in 2020, right after earning my master's degree in Social Work. Since then, I've had the opportunity to work with a broad range of mental health challenges, which has helped me develop a flexible and personalized approach to therapy. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I tailor each therapeutic approach to fit the unique needs and personality of the individual I’m working with. You can expect a laid-back and approachable atmosphere when we work together, but I’m also direct and straightforward when the situation calls for it. My focus is on empowering you while providing a warm and supportive space where you can feel safe to explore your feelings. Whether you've experienced inpatient behavioral health care or are seeking outpatient therapy, I bring experience and genuine care to every session. I’m here to support your journey and help you find practical, meaningful ways to improve your mental well-being.
My ideal clients are adolescents and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. A lot of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity questions, or relationship challenges. I also work with children when play-based therapy feels like the best fit for helping them express what they’re going through. In our work together, my focus is on creating a space where you can show up as you are without judgment. I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and often draw from DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and psychoeducation to help you better understand what you’re experiencing and build tools that actually fit your life. More than anything, I want therapy to feel like a place where things start to make more sense and feel more manageable over time. We’ll work together to build insight, confidence, and practical coping skills so you can move forward in a way that feels more grounded and supported. My goal is to make starting therapy feel simple and welcoming.
I have spent the past 20 years helping students with the work of school success and growing into healthy, happy adults. My background includes teaching high school, running a summer camp, school counseling, and directing September High School. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring these experiences into his clinical work. I use a variety of approaches to help people get more functional and feel more successful. Some benefit from Dan’s short-term, cognitive-behavioral interventions. For other clients, Dan approaches ongoing therapy from a Humanistic and Gestalt view.
“With adversity comes opportunity” from the I Ching- Or Book of Changes The decision to seek therapy can be due to times of stress or the desire to seek change. We know that change is not always a straight path. To take a “road less traveled” can be filled with a beautiful river that flows and leads to clarity or it be a be a river filled with large boulders that need to be traversed with help and support. Therapy can be a tool that facilitates resilience and transformation. My approach in therapy is to first engage in a process of discovery. As your therapist, we will work together to discover what events, situations, and relationships in your life or your past do not work for you now. It is really important to understand how your life works in order to set goals and create change. Most importantly, it is important to remember that change affects all the people in your life. In the role of therapist, my initial priority is creating the safety and familiarity that is crucial to do real work together. I look at the therapeutic process as an opportunity to work with the person coming to me in need of support, and tackle their issues as a team. I bring a nonjudgmental, open-minded approach to my clients and emphasize the importance of clients feeling secure enough to say anything they need to in the space we curate together. My approach has an emphasis on self-compassion and becoming in tune with your emotions and body. In today’s world, it is easier than ever to become disconnected from your body and feelings. My hope is that we can work together to reintegrate your inner wisdom to your conscious level of awareness.

Are you going through a change in your life? Do you feel overwhelmed with life, navigating relationships with others, and/or managing emotions? Do you feel numb or disconnected lately? Struggling to manage emotions, stay focused, or keep up with everything on your plate? Maybe perfectionism is running the show—even when you’re exhausted. Maybe you’re using drinking, weed, or other habits to cope. Maybe guilt, shame, or feeling “not enough” hits you more than you let on. Relationships might feel confusing or repetitive, or you might find yourself always on alert, restless, isolating, or overworking because slowing down feels uncomfortable. College can also bring up painful experiences you didn’t expect—old wounds, traumatic events, or something that happened (like sexual assault or abuse) that changed how you feel about yourself, others, or the world. Adjusting socially, emotionally, and academically can be harder than anyone talks about. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work experientially, integrating somatic approaches, EMDR, psychodrama, and other in-action modalities to help you reconnect with yourself, shift stuck patterns, and feel more grounded and in control of your life again.

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, I graduated as my high school’s valedictorian before earning a bachelor’s in creative writing and chemistry from Eckerd College. I completed medical school under a merit-based scholarship at USF Morsani College of Medicine and psychiatric residency at the University of New Mexico. My expertise is in helping people change how they feel or behave using evidence-based therapy and guidance. I focus on building a trusting relationship in which you feel open to discuss and work on whatever aspects of your life that you are hoping to change. People tell me they quickly feel at ease talking with me. Together we assess what feelings, thoughts or behaviors you would like to change or feel differently about or how you would like a relationship to be different. We make goals together to guide this process. I then guide you on how to make these changes, sustain them, and assess when you have attained them.
It's nice to meet you! My name is Erica (she/her), and I am a queer therapist working with students who struggle with disordered eating, relationship wounds, anxiety, and substance use. Are you searching for relief from constantly critiquing what you eat or what your body looks like? Then this is the space for you. Are you tired of feeling as though you aren't good enough? Or perhaps you've realized that you're coping with stress in ways that make you think "this isn't me...". Then this too, is the space for you. Many of my clients are college students who are seeking to find more internal stability, emotional regulation, and a deeper understanding and acceptance of who they are. Navigating college is difficult enough, and can feel even more overwhelming when you just can't seem to feel like you. Therapy can help you understand yourself better, feel more self-assured, and provide you with the tools to better manage internal and external stress. I offer a free 30 minute consultation so that we can meet and chat a bit more about how you need support. If you think we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out! Wishing you the best in wherever your mental health journey takes you.
Are you feeling stuck? Or perhaps anxiety, fear, other emotions, or memories are preventing you from being your true self? Asking for help can feel intimidating, and at the same time everyone needs help at some point in their life. I am glad you are starting this process. I am here to work together with you on your concerns, issues, or perhaps the much needed space of a listening ear. I find it can be difficult to vocalize our emotions, share our story, or be our true selves due to many underlying emotions.
