Are your relationships suffering? Are you struggling to date, preserve your relationship, or find sexual satisfaction in your relationships? Are you facing questions about yourself and your path in life? Relationship and identity issues are often at the core of our suffering and can leave us feeling alone, rejected, and misunderstood. You deserve the chance to feel seen, to heal, and to grow through and toward connection. At ACTW, we love helping people find ways to live their authentic self and establish meaningful, loving, sexually satisfied relationships. This means exploring vulnerable topics with compassion and safety, healing old wounds from past relationships, and empowering you to thrive in being your genuine self. We help our clients understand how their past has impacted their present and can best support their future. We'll work collaboratively to understand your early life experiences, as well as current stressors, and how they may be contributing to some of the struggles you're experiencing. Our relational approach allows our clients to feel seen and heard, while getting the support and insight they need to heal, grow, and change. We'll help you rediscover your resiliency and self-worth.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C) providing therapy for adults throughout Colorado. I specialize in anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing, relationship challenges, childhood wounds, and the transitions that come with pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and attachment-focused, integrating evidence-based and somatic therapies to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change.
"My life looks completely different than I thought it would, and I don't know what to do with that." "I feel like I should be over it by now, but I'm not." "I'm tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix." "My mind won't stop, and I'm exhausted from trying to keep up with it." Whatever brought you here, you don't have to figure it out alone. Naming what's underneath the pain can be a relief in itself. From there, we can begin listening to what's in your heart — clarifying what you value and hope for — and working together toward the changes that bring healing, meaning, and joy. I am passionate about working with those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma — including spiritual trauma — grief, and health-related challenges. The relationship we build is the foundation of this work. I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach with CBT, bringing warmth and deep respect for your story. Your goals and your pace guide the process. If this sounds like what you've been looking for, I'd welcome the chance to connect. Reach out by calling, texting, or sending an email to get scheduled for your first appointment.

Experienced in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, I am passionate about helping patients improve their overall well-being and quality of life. I have more than 15 years’ expertise in various settings and roles, helping adults navigate struggles with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, postpartum and related women's mental health issues, grief, and schizophrenia. I value a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with you and partnering with medical and mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive, individualized care. Improving lives with mental health care begins through collaborative care. That’s why I empower you to take an active role in your treatment, emphasizing education, shared decision-making, and the use of evidence-based practices for diagnosis and treatment. I believe that medication is most effective when paired with therapy, healthy coping strategies, and supportive interventions, so I utilize all approaches to help you achieve your healing needs and goals. Mental health has always been a part of my life. My father worked in mental health as an Occupational Therapist, and my mother was considered a specialist in Autism, ADHD, and IDD as an Occupational Therapist. When I was 9, my brother entered the world with neurodivergence, and I had to adapt and learn quickly to support him. These lifelong experiences led me to become an advocate for patients, driving me to work collaboratively with them, treat holistically, and provide education. Outside of clinical work, I enjoy attending comic conventions, exploring new experiences with my two young children, 3-D printing projects with my husband, thrifting, collecting crystals and minerals, and crafting.

Sequoia Counseling Collective is a group therapy practice offering compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals and couples. Our team of skilled therapists specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief and loss, life transitions, perinatal mental health, and relationship challenges. Are you or your child navigating mental health struggles, but are ready to better understand yourself and create meaningful change? As an LGBTQIA+-affirming therapist, I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, identity development, and trauma for adolescents and adults. You may feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, disconnected from your values, or overwhelmed by past experiences. Rather than looking for someone to "fix" you, you want a compassionate therapist who helps you make sense of your story, build practical skills, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling. That’s where I come in. I have a particular passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and others seeking a safe, affirming space where you can be fully yourself while developing resilience, self-compassion, and deeper, more connected relationships. In my view, healing happens through genuine connection, authenticity, and a relationship built on trust, compassion, and respect. My goal is to be a thoughtful, collaborative partner who walks alongside you, not to tell you who you should become but to help you discover the strengths, resilience, and wisdom that already exist within you. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for something different, you don't have to navigate it alone. I would be honored to support you as you build the life, relationships, and sense of purpose you deserve, one meaningful step at a time. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of healing, and my style reflects that through thoughtful, engaging, and genuine care. I provide trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-affirming therapy grounded in compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based care to help you reconnect with your strengths and live more intentionally. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), existential therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and Mindfulness, I tailor treatment to your unique story and goals. Together, we'll identify unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping skills, process difficult experiences, and build a life that aligns with your values, working at a pace that feels both supportive and appropriately challenging. The goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, challenged with care, and empowered to create lasting change. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both my professional career and my personal life. Like many of my patients, I've experienced seasons of anxiety, depression, and profound life transition. Therapy was an essential part of helping me navigate those challenges while pursuing a high-achieving career, raising an incredible son with autism and ADHD, and later embracing my authentic self as a transgender woman in midlife. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the courage it takes to ask for help and the transformative power of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Today, I am committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-affirming care where patients feel truly seen, understood, and accepted. I bring empathy, life experience, and clinical expertise to every session, believing that healing begins when people discover they don't have to face life's challenges alone. Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my son and exploring Colorado through backpacking, climbing, and skiing. A lifelong competitive tennis player and music lover, I also love spending time with my French Bulldog. These experiences keep me grounded, remind me to appreciate the present moment, and reinforce the importance of resilience, connection, and finding joy in life's everyday adventures.
Peak Serenity Counseling & Nutrition is a therapy practice devoted to meeting the mental health needs of adolescents, families, and adults living in Colorado and Virginia. We believe that challenging and changing unhealthy behaviors will yield overall better mental and physical health. Together with our clients, we explore past experiences and examine how they continue to impact the present and influence behaviors. Our holistic approach looks at the entire person and not just at the symptoms they are experiencing. Our goal at Peak Serenity is to help clients find their full potential and well-being through self-exploration, understanding, and acceptance of their true, authentic self. Through learning to value themselves and understand their wants and needs, clients explore and discover what brings them to their own sense of peak serenity.
I'm Amanda MacLeod, PA-C, a board-certified physician assistant who treats patients with a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, depression, and other mood disorders, with additional clinical interests in treatment-resistant conditions, complex trauma, and behavioral concerns. Guided by a belief in patient and community advocacy, I provide compassionate care while inspiring active change through shared decision-making. I emphasize a person-centered and trauma-informed approach, integrating holistic internal medicine, patient education, medication management, and preventative care to support and sustain overall health and well-being. Specializing in psychopharmacology and psychodynamic therapy, I also have experience with advanced treatment modalities, including pharmacogenetic testing and psychiatric evaluations. Originally from Kansas, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas, I pursued my post-graduate education in Arizona. There, I earned my M.M.Sc. in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University before eventually settling in Denver, Colorado, with my husband and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – Eevee and Peach. I appreciate being closer to family and exploring the natural beauty of Colorado. In my free time, I enjoy music, concerts, sports, reading, anime/manga, crafting, cozy hobbies, and, of course, binge-watching TV shows/movies.
I believe that meaningful change begins with acceptance, self-compassion, and a safe space to explore life's challenges. My therapeutic approach is centered on helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while recognizing and building upon their inherent strengths and resilience. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to move toward their goals at their own pace. Together, we work to identify patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop practical tools that foster healing, growth, and lasting change. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices and tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive and behavioral approaches, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and strengthen adaptive beliefs. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, or seeking greater self-understanding, I am committed to supporting you with compassion, collaboration, and respect throughout your therapeutic journey.
I work with college students and young adults who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, performance pressure, and emotional shutdown — even when they are capable and motivated. Many of the students I support struggle with test anxiety, presentations, interviews, perfectionism, panic symptoms, or the sense that their nervous system goes into “fight or flight” under pressure. Others experience anxiety and depression together, which can affect motivation, focus, and connection. My approach is neuroscience-informed and practical. I use evidence-based therapies including EMDR, ACT, CBT, Polyvagal-informed therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients regulate their nervous system, reduce reactivity, and build confidence in real-world situations. I provide a supportive, structured space where students can develop tools to manage stress, improve emotional regulation, and move forward with greater clarity and resilience
Are you struggling to engage or enjoy activities you once used to, or to make healthy friendships, connect, stay focused on studies? Perhaps you are noticing that acute or past traumas are getting in the way of feeling safe in your own body and coping is or has become very difficult. I specialize in working with emerging, young adults who battle anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex childhood trauma, addiction, suicidal thoughts and more. Counseling with me will be a warm, authentic and safe experience where together, we can gently process the thoughts, fears and doubts that keep you feeling stuck and perhaps miserable. Therapy may involve processing trauma, helping you develop increased awareness, exploring thought processes, relationships and behavior patterns, as well as learning new skills to manage your symptoms and relationships.
I view therapy as sacred work in which the therapeutic relationship is one of mutual respect and collaboration. I hold a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington (1997) and a Master’s degree (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University (2010) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. In 2014 I completed a three year advanced training in Somatic Experiencing (SE), a body-centered approach to treating trauma and other stress disorders. I am inspired by Western psychological models and Eastern contemplative techniques, and my practice is enhanced by many years of experience as a yoga and meditation teacher, and as a seeker of various healing modalities. A life-long path of self-exploration and global adventure has been my classroom and has led me to ashrams, Native American sweat lodges, monasteries, and innumerable seminars, workshops, and retreats. I believe in finding inner growth and meaning in all life experiences, especially adversity. My therapeutic style is integrative and holistic, creatively employing Somatic, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral techniques with the intention of restoring balance to body, mind and spirit and inner harmony with all of your Parts. I bring deep empathy, insight, warmth, and liberal doses of humor to my clients, specializing in support for those challenged by trauma and anxiety. I am a trauma survivor, and I am particularly dedicated to the healing of childhood sexual abuse. My passion lies in helping you reconnect with your light. Whatever is standing in your way, whether it is shame, trauma, anxiety, low self-worth, we will unearth it. Together, we will heal it. Working as a team, we will be alchemists, transforming pain into personal power and self-love. You deserve to love all parts of yourself. You deserve to feel whole.
