Meaning-Making & Life Transitions | Anxiety, Grief, and Healing There are times in life when the questions feel too big: Why does everything feel so disconnected from what I imagined? How do I keep moving forward when I’m not sure where to go? If you’ve built a life that looks good on the outside but feels off on the inside, you’re not alone. Maybe you’ve spent years pushing forward, staying busy, and doing what’s expected—only to find yourself feeling restless, anxious, or disconnected from what once drove you. Or maybe something big has shifted—grief, a transition, an unexpected change—and suddenly, the certainty you once relied on isn’t there anymore. I understand this because I’ve lived it. Losing both of my parents during some of the most formative years of my life left me grappling with a depth of grief and confusion I wasn’t prepared for. In my late teens and early adulthood, I had to figure out how to keep going while everything around me was shifting. It was a messy, painful journey that took me to the darkest corners of myself, forcing me to confront emotions I hadn’t even realized I was carrying. And through it, I eventually learned that healing doesn’t come from pushing through or pretending to be okay. It comes from creating space for what’s real—sitting with it, learning from it, and finding a way forward, even when it feels impossible. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s “broken,” but about understanding yourself in new ways. It’s about reconnecting with who you truly are, even when life has pulled you off course. In my practice, I offer a space for you to process what’s beneath the surface—without pressure, without judgment. Whether you’re navigating grief, dealing with anxiety, or facing a life transition that’s left you questioning everything, therapy can help you make sense of it. Healing with me isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about deep exploration, vulnerability, and learning how to reconnect with yourself and what truly matters to you. If any of this resonates, I’m here to walk with you through it—helping you rediscover clarity, confidence, and the courage to move forward in a way that feels right for you. Gabrielle Samo, MA, LPCC, earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University and understands that navigating life’s challenges can feel overwhelming. Her approach combines practical tools to help make sense of things (because sometimes we need a map) with the space to sit with what’s hard (because not everything can—or should—be fixed right away). Her work is informed by experience supporting individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses, as well as years of hospice volunteer work. Gabrielle Samo is supervised by Michelle Fagan, LPC #0016337.
I am an experienced psychotherapist highly trained in working with couples. I also specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, self-esteem issues, relational dynamics, grief, and guilt/shame.
These days, students face difficult decisions and life situations and must navigate complicated futures and relationships. I specialize in working with young people who are struggling with these things and want to find better ways to cope. Frequently, I see students who are good at solving complex problems. On the other side of this advantage, they sometimes suffer from perfectionism, anxiety, depression, or relationship problems. When addressed, these conditions can be alleviated. I provide an easy space to talk together about the things that you're up against -- and you'll not be alone with it. Your/our work in this way will alleviate distress, practically and emotionally. I no longer accept insurance, so our work together is completely private. If any of this resonates, I'd be happy to chat and see what's possible. All best wishes in every arena! Anna
Hi, I’m Shannon Gavin, LCSW. I made the move to Colorado in 2020, right after earning my master's degree in Social Work. Since then, I've had the opportunity to work with a broad range of mental health challenges, which has helped me develop a flexible and personalized approach to therapy. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I tailor each therapeutic approach to fit the unique needs and personality of the individual I’m working with. You can expect a laid-back and approachable atmosphere when we work together, but I’m also direct and straightforward when the situation calls for it. My focus is on empowering you while providing a warm and supportive space where you can feel safe to explore your feelings. Whether you've experienced inpatient behavioral health care or are seeking outpatient therapy, I bring experience and genuine care to every session. I’m here to support your journey and help you find practical, meaningful ways to improve your mental well-being.

Do you have that sinking sensation that you are not in control of your own life? Your decisions are governed by hidden desires, urges, fears, and conditioning - the unconscious. My goal for therapy is to work towards helping my clients find the strength and resilience needed to get through what life brings to the table. I am a certified EMDR therapist, though I use multiple therapeutic approaches with each client and tailor therapy to each individual's needs. I take great pride in building a strong therapeutic relationship with the clients I see, as I believe that is the foundation of therapy! I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families as a whole. I love watching people grow throughout the therapeutic process, whether that entails mending strained relationships, working through trauma(s), embarking on a new journey, or finding personal strength. My passion to help others is what motivates me daily. It may be nerve wracking, overwhelming, and/or slightly uncomfortable, but just know that I am here to help, however I can. It can seem like a challenge to find a good therapist, but it is absolutely worth it to push forward until you find the best fit for you. I am licensed in New York, Colorado, Nevada, Florida, and South Carolina. Please note: I am not paneled with any insurance companies in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, or South Carolina.

College can be intense — full of pressure, transitions, and big questions about who you are and where you’re headed. I offer a calm, compassionate space to slow things down and be with what’s coming up, just as you are, without rushing or fixing. My work is informed by Internal Family Systems (parts work) and mind-body awareness, and is centered on curiosity, presence, and working together. I offer a 15-minute consult as a brief opportunity to connect and ask questions about working together. Students often come to me feeling overwhelmed, self-critical, anxious, or unsure — sometimes carrying stress, family dynamics, perfectionism, or past experiences that still affect them. In our work together, we move gently and at a pace that feels supportive and respectful, paying attention to your inner experience, including how things show up in the body. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on or have the right words — we listen together beneath the pressure, creating room for insight, relief, and meaningful change to unfold over time. I have over 10 years of experience supporting people through this kind of inner work. I see therapy as a place where you can feel accompanied as you get to know yourself more deeply and find your own sense of clarity and direction.
