Hi there, I’m Gavyn. Originally from Illinois, I spent my formative years in the Madison, Wisconsin area. My academic journey led me to the University of Milwaukee, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During high school and throughout my undergraduate years, I immersed myself in various treatment environments, from nursing homes to residential treatment facilities, and outpatient mental health clinics. My commitment to serve my community remained strong as I persisted in finding a setting that would fuel my passion for aiding others in their treatment journeys. Upon completing my undergraduate studies, I ventured to Chicago to delve into the world of wedding photography, a pursuit that fed my artistic soul but left me yearning for deeper human connections. This longing eventually led me and my husband to Colorado, where I embarked on my Master’s in Social Work, specializing in Animal Assisted Therapy. Here, I discovered a profound passion for integrating the healing potential of the human-animal bond into my therapeutic practice. My professional journey has been diverse, encompassing work with various populations, including adolescents diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and those navigating disordered eating challenges. Through these experiences, I've refined my ability to address a wide spectrum of mental health concerns. Central to my approach is a belief in the power of a strengths-based perspective, recognizing and nurturing the innate resilience and resources within each individual. I strive to cultivate a safe and supportive environment where clients can freely explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Establishing a strong therapeutic alliance is fundamental to my practice, empowering clients to feel understood and empowered on their path to healing. When I am not in the office, you'll often find me cuddling my four fluffy animals—two cats and two dogs—or plotting my next exciting adventure.
My belief is that everyone can benefit from therapy and having the support of an unbiased person to talk to. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the belief that our thoughts create our feelings, and that if we change our negative thinking our feelings will change. CBT teaches that it is not the event which causes the emotion (and our behavioral reaction) but the meaning we give that event - or what we think ABOUT that event. There are many powerful tools that have been developed to help you change your negative thoughts and feelings. Working with a Mental Health Therapist will help you learn how to use those tools to make changes in your life and relationships. Negative distorted thoughts tell us “once everything falls into place, I will feel peace”. Therapy helps you find your peace and then everything falls into place.
I am passionate about helping clients in their journey towards healing and restoration. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their life stories and have conversations they might not be able to have anywhere else. I enjoy helping my clients feel a renewed sense of hope through empathy and compassion. I understand that college students are in a transformative and transitional period in their lives, so I love to help these clients explore their identity and become the best version of themselves during this time. I specialize in working with clients who struggle with attachment issues, anxiety, and perfectionism. I use Person-Centered Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Attachment Theory. I take a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating ways to heal the body, mind, and spirit to give you the best care.

As a psychologist, I partner with clients to help them heal from raw emotional pain, recognize their inner strengths, and build resiliency in the face of life’s biggest challenges. My style is one that is warm and nurturing while also direct and honest. If you’re feeling stuck, not good enough, lonely, overwhelmed, devastated, or ashamed, you are not alone. I have dedicated my career to learning gold standard treatments to ensure that when clients have the courage to reach out for help, I am able to offer treatment interventions that they can trust will make a difference. I am a clinical specialist with expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, depression, complicated grief (suicide loss, perinatal loss), and unwanted sexual experiences (rape, sexual assault, harassment, violence). I began practicing in 2005 and have been a licensed psychologist since 2010.
Hey there! I am so glad you're here. When I was growing up, I quickly learned that there were few places I could be truly myself and accepted just as I am. As a therapist, I've discovered many of us share that same story. We learn to conform and perform in response to the pressure of our world telling us who to be, and we are left confused, ashamed, and exhausted when it becomes too much to maintain as adults. In my work with clients, I offer space for you to be exactly who you are, wherever you're at, so that together, we can discover a life that feels good and enjoyable to live, based on your most authentic values and desires. In my practice, I work with members of the LGBTQ+ community, those struggling with body image and disordered eating, survivors of bullying, and folks wrestling with religious trauma. Together, we will explore your unique goals, the pain and behaviors that may be holding you back, and how to create satisfying relationships, both with others and yourself. It is a brave first step to reach out for support when you need it, especially when life feels difficult, and I would be honored to hear your story and explore working with you toward a greater sense of worth and hope. You can contact me through my website or via phone call/ text, and I will respond in 1-2 business days. I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi, I’m Annette Godbout, LCSW. I’m a licensed therapist with nearly 6 years of experience supporting individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. I truly believe that everyone possesses the tools within for self-healing and recovery, and I would be honored to walk beside you on your journey. I believe the first step in healing is being given a safe and nonjudgmental space to truly be seen and heard. I give every client a space of warmth, empathy, acceptance, and support. My approach draws from evidence based modalities including EMDR, CBT, and DBT. My unique skillset positions me to help you find your happiest and healthiest self that already exists within. My years working with children in behavioral health, transitioning to teens with complex trauma, and spending the last years working with adults of all ages gives me a robust repertoire to pull from for clients of all ages. Ultimately, everyone is different and there is certainly no “one size fits all” path to healing. I would be thrilled to help you find your path. I specialize in life transitions, emotional regulation, trauma processing and recovery, anxiety, depression, grief work, and overall stress management for the overwhelm that daily life can bring. I bring a client focused approach to my practice helping clients build insight and emotional resilience to evoke long lasting and meaningful change. I’m glad that you are here. The true courage lies in taking the first step.
I utilize evidenced based interventions from both acceptance and commitment therapy and trauma-informed care principles in my practice. I graduated in 2017 from the University of Denver with my Masters in Social Work and have been providing both inpatient and outpatient treatment since that time. My education and both, personal and professional experiences have allowed me to develop skills to work with diverse, often marginalized populations, such as members of the LGBTQIA+ population or those where English is not their first language. My specialities for work center around severe mental illnesses, such as: schizophrenia and other thought disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. Typically clients I work with have the above noted challenges, but have also experienced other stressors in their relationships, employment, and/or with addiction(s) of some kind.
Life can feel like a constant push toward the next achievement, leaving you stuck in self-doubt, uncertainty, or the pressure to have it all figured out. Maybe you're questioning your path, struggling with relationships, or trying to break free from old patterns that no longer serve you. If your inner critic won’t quiet down or you feel overwhelmed by anxiety and stress, you don’t have to navigate it alone. The experiences we carry from childhood shape how we navigate relationships, cope with challenges, and see ourselves. Past wounds can create patterns that feel hard to break, but change is possible. If you feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt, struggling to set boundaries, or weighed down by family expectations, therapy can support you in discovering your true self and creating healthier patterns. I offer a space to explore these challenges, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop a stronger connection to yourself. I specialize in a psychodynamic approach with an attachment lens, helping you unpack how past experiences influence your present. Using a trauma-informed and holistic framework, I address the whole person—mind, body, and emotions. I also can incorporate brainspotting, a nontraditional but powerful tool that helps process trauma and emotional distress beyond talk therapy. Additionally, I support those adjusting to life with cancer or chronic illness, helping you navigate the emotional weight of a diagnosis, changes in identity, and the uncertainty that comes with it. My style is warm, approachable, and real. Therapy should be a place where you feel safe to be yourself—whether you’re laughing, crying, or just figuring things out. Let’s work together to build confidence, clarity, and a life that feels more like yours.

I was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. before moving to Columbia, Mo. to attend the University of Missouri. I graduated with a Bachelors of Journalism and moved to Rogers, Ark. where I worked as an editor and designer for Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and stayed in the area to attend graduate school at the University of Arkansas. I earned a Masters of Science in Counseling in 2015 and opened a small practice in 2016. I relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2020. I decided to become a counselor because -- most simply put -- I believe in counseling. Throughout my own counseling work I have come to see the value in sitting across from another person and allowing them to see all of me—my fears, my doubts, my shame, my joy, my hurt. I find author and researcher Brene´ Brown sums it up best: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
