Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
In the middle of becoming someone new? I work with adolescents and adults navigating identity transitions—career pivots, new parenthood, finishing school, layoffs, or the quieter realization that the life you’ve been building no longer fits. I came to this work through my own transition after a decade in tech startups, so I understand what it’s like to question your path and grow into something not yet fully defined. I’m also a new mom, with firsthand experience of the disorientation and identity shifts that can come with early parenthood—so if you’re in that season, you won’t have to explain it from scratch. I draw from several evidence based approaches; Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). What matters more than the models themselves is how therapy feels: collaborative, structured when helpful, open-ended when needed, and grounded in approaches that are proven to support real change. Therapy works best when it feels like yours—like the conversations you’d want to be having if you had the right person to have them with. My role is to be that person, while also offering tools and frameworks that help you make sense of what’s happening, not just talk about it.
Do any of the following resonate with you? • You're grieving the loss of a loved one and friends and family think you should be "over it" by now. • You've lost a pet, relationship, job, your faith, or something else you held dear and no one seems to understand the depth of your feelings. • You've started questioning the faith of your youth and need a safe place to ask the questions you've been afraid to ask. • You've been rejected by your church, faith system, and/or your family because of your gender identity or sexual orientation and need a safe place to process and begin to heal those wounds. • You went through conversion therapy or a "pray the gay away" program and are now struggling in your faith, wondering if God can love you as you really are. • You're facing a life transition and need support navigating all of the mixed emotions that come with leaving one season and moving forward into another. • You're struggling in your relationship with a partner, friend, family member, or someone else, and need help setting boundaries and communicating your needs with kindness and respect (to yourself and others). I can help with all of the above issues and more. (Please see my website for more details: www.journeystepscounseling.com) I am dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where all of your emotions, thoughts, and questions can be expressed and explored. Using a variety of therapeutic approaches, I'll come alongside you and tailor our sessions to your unique needs. I offer in-person sessions in Denver on Saturdays and online appointments Wednesday through Friday. Please contact me and we can set up a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit. I look forward to coming alongside you on your unique journey!
Hi there! My name is Hannah and I am a therapist with my MSW from MSU Denver. I approach therapy through a client-centered, trauma-informed lens. I aim to provide a compassionate and supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, experiences, and challenges at their own pace. I am passionate about working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I draw from an integrative approach using evidence-based modalities including CBT, ACT, and Person-Centered therapy to support clients in building resilience, insight, and meaningful change.
I am a therapist specializing in a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity issues, LGBTQIA+ identity and relationships, life transitions, men's health, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual health, stress management, and student mental health — working with patients of all ages. With more than eight years of experience in direct care mental health settings and a background as a former educator, I bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic relationship. I believe that healing is a collaborative process and am committed to working alongside people from all walks of life to help you navigate your challenges and discover solutions that are right for you. My practice is founded on evidence-based and integrative modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), humanistic, and collaborative approaches. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor therapy to meet you where you are. My goal is to create a space where processing your experiences, build new understanding, and work toward meaningful goals all come together, so that every session moves you forward in a way that feels both grounded and purposeful. My path to becoming a therapist grew naturally out of my work as an educator. Many of my former students sought me out specifically, recognizing that they needed someone to direct and honest with them about their patterns and behaviors. Being surrounded by therapists throughout that time, I found myself continually inspired by the depth and impact of their work. That inspiration led me here. Today, I bring that same directness into the therapy room, helping you explore how your feelings and emotions connect to your history and how patterns, often without our awareness. By shining a light on those cycles, we can begin to understand them and, together, find a new way forward. Outside of the office, you can find me practicing hot yoga, spending time outdoors, playing video games, making art, or catching up on reality TV. These varied interests keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of joy, creativity, and rest, all values I bring into my work with you.
It seems like doing life got harder. Stress is prevalent, the room clears out. You feel overwhelmed, patience is low and checking out sounds like a good idea. Tired of trying to make everyone happy? Got friends? Love? Expressing confidence is difficult and you question yourself constantly. All of these can lead to depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships and poor habits and addiction. But they don't have to cause suffering. There are many tools available to you that can help you problem solve, reduce anxious and depressive symptoms, improve relationships and even tools that you can start using right now to find love. I practice from the belief that everyone can have a balanced life. You can have love, friends & even appreciate going to work every day. That anxiety is not to be feared but appreciated. That your mind has the potential to heal naturally given the right tools. My toolbox includes art, mindfulness, somatic techniques, CBT, outdoor therapy and more. The hardest step is to show up to your first session. For many of us it is like the first day of school. Soon, you get to know your teachers and with hard work, you learn, you grow and you move on. Team up with me and you will soon discover that you won't want to go back to the old way of being.
Are you feeling overwhelmed with classes and social demands? Working through a relationship or family conflict? Hoping to build up confidence but not sure how? It’s understandable and normal that we might need help working through life’s challenges. It’s my goal to offer support and compassion as you navigate these challenges in hopes of creating a better and deeper understanding of yourself. I believe that through this understanding of yourself comes healing, growth, and an ability to identify and express your emotions. I want to help you find confidence, peace, and self-compassion. My specialties include college-aged women and post-college twenty-somethings entering the workforce. Women and young adults face unique experiences and I'm passionate about helping navigate them. Family systems therapy and attachment theory are the pillars of my work. I also use a trauma informed approach, person-centered therapy, and CBT. I approach my work with curiosity, humility, and humor (sometimes we just need to laugh a little). My goal is to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe and empowered to express your thoughts and feelings. Through a collaborative approach, I strive to create a compassionate and sincere therapeutic relationship.
Finding Acceptance, Moving Towards Change Book a Free Consultation Are you struggling with aligning your life activities with your values and goals? Do you find yourself feeling stuck in unfulfilling relationships? It’s vital to acknowledge and face your current situation and the feelings you have about it in order to make change happen, and psychotherapy provides space for this. We'll begin by talking about your goals for therapy, and we'll collaborate on a plan for our work together. You can expect to develop more perspective and self-compassion, find a new capacity to navigate difficult feelings, and uncover and work towards freedom from habitual thought patterns. I am curious by nature, and I’d love to help you explore your particular individuality and its connection with your life history and desires. Through our work together, you’ll gain new insight and appreciation for who you are as you grow in expressing previously unspoken parts of yourself. I’ll ask a lot of questions in our conversations, but also hold space for you to discover your own thoughts and speak them. It can be difficult to begin a journey of self-discovery. But with the right support, the work finds its rhythm, and improvements can come surprisingly quickly. Satie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Her specialties include trauma, depression, grief and loss, relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, and development of self-awareness and self-connection. She takes a whole-person and compassion-rooted approach and often combines relational, body-based, emotion-focused, and mindfulness elements in working with clients. Satie approaches therapy as a collaborative relationship in which the process is tailored specifically to what each person needs over time. She believes that not everyone needs the same things from therapy, so it needs to adjust to each person. Therapy with her is relational and grounded and her therapeutic style is described as collaborative, empathetically challenging, and non-judgmental. Satie strives to make room in therapy for calm, humor, and joy in the process as well. Her ideal clients are individuals who understand that healing often requires change. With that in mind, she works to support clients in identifying and exploring personal response patterns, making meaning, gaining insight into emotions, shifting beliefs about self, and learning to better regulate or cope. Her hope is for individuals to connect with their needs and experience meaningful changes or insights in therapy that help them to feel more empowered, build a strong personal foundation of understanding, and reconnect with parts of themselves or experiences they've felt disconnected from. Whether you're needing a supportive place in your life to process stress and transition or wanting to explore deeper concerns, She will provide a calm, open space for you to do that.
I strive to provide excellent care to my clients through a diverse set of modalities tailored to their needs. I look forward to working with you to meet your goals, whatever they might be.

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in body image/eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ issues, and relationship concerns. I also provide general mental health services for those struggling with anxiety, life transitions, or depression. I greatly enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and am passionate about serving as an advocate as well as honoring and celebrating clients' identities in our work together. I particularly enjoy working with college students as I have spent the majority of my training and career working in university counseling centers. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and I value receiving feedback from my clients and ensuring their voice is heard and respected in our relationship. I emphasize exploring how past experiences and our unique identities shape our current selves and understanding of the world. I aim to create a safe space in therapy as well as a new experience where clients can feel truly seen and accepted as their whole selves. I believe trauma-informed care is essential to avoid pathologizing clients and to name and honor clients' resilience and many strengths. In my work with clients, I aim to be compassionate and authentic while bringing a good dose of humor and relatability. If you are interested in working together, feel free to contact me by e-mail/phone to schedule an initial consultation.
