I'm Dr. Caroline Mazzer, a licensed psychologist working with college-age clients using CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I help clients who are struggling with anxiety, difficulty managing intense emotions, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, and mood disorders. College brings a lot of emotional intensity: new independence, new pressures, and often new or worsening struggles with mood and self-regulation. In our work together, you'll build concrete DBT skills for tolerating distress, regulating emotion, and staying safe, alongside a therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely supported.

My background is in CBT and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), which means we'll focus on practical, evidence-based skills for managing intense emotions and improving relationships, alongside a genuinely warm, collaborative therapeutic relationship. If you're feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns, or struggling with thoughts of hurting yourself, I'd be glad to work with you.

I work with trauma-survivors to provide a loving, healing, safe space where you can process your experiences, be seen & supported around what happened, gain important knowledge or insight around how this experience may be affecting you, and learn new ways to cope with the losses you incurred. As a client-led therapist, you are always in control of the work we are doing together in therapy. I have an array of interventions and tools that we can work with, from working with the mind (ie. CBT), the body (ie. Brainspotting), or through looking at the macro (society) and micro (internal family systems) systems that are affecting you or preventing you from living your best life. My goal is to make the therapy room safe, loving, and open so you can have the space to self-reflect and make conscious choices of how to move towards healthier living. I offer FREE consultations to make sure we are a good fit and you'd like to work with me. Please sign up on my website for an immediate appointment.

The journey I embark on with clients and my perspective is informed by an alchemical Mind/Body/Soul model, which uses Jungian-based and Embodied Psycho-dynamic principles, combined with other modalities that recognize the multiple aspects of psyche and dynamics within the human experience. My perspective holds that unresolved issues from the past create thought, belief, behavior, and life patterns that negatively impact the present. I believe all people are beautiful divine souls. Our suffering and pain on this earth-walk takes nothing away from our divinity, it births our compassion and spiritual consciousness. This perspective has been the guiding light of my life's path.

Hi, I am Misty. I work with college students, children, teens and adults who feel worn down by anxiety, low mood, stress, or health changes and want to feel steady and present again. You might reach out for support with depression, anxiety, ADHD, burnout, or trouble sleeping, yet what you are really longing for is relief, clarity, and a sense that your mind and body are finally on the same team. Many of my clients are caregivers or helping professionals who show up for everyone else and are ready for a space that is just for them, where they can slow down, be heard, and begin to restore balance. In our work together, I offer warm, collaborative care that helps you feel seen while we untangle what is happening beneath the surface. I provide holistic medication management, CBT and DBT-style therapy, help with ADHD and burnout struggles, and support for major depressive disorder. If you feel tired of carrying so much on your own, you are not alone. You deserve a space where you can slow down, be heard, and feel supported. If this resonates, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take the next step.

I’ve been part of the Harvard Medical School system for over a decade, first as a trainee, now as faculty member. I'm trained primarily in psychodynamic therapy, but principles/interventions from other paradigms also inform my work, and I love working with students. Ultimately, the nature of therapy depends on the patient, what they are up against, and their goals. For this reason, the course of therapy is difficult to describe, but surely only ever works in a context of empathy & respect, not to mention humor (sometimes life can only be laughed at). This is a perspective I lay out in some detail in a recently published, two-volume book, titled, "A Humane Vision of Clinical Psychology." I'm a good fit for someone looking to understand and change established patterns, and to find relief from associated symptoms. Currently, I am contracted with the student insurances at Tufts and Boston College, which make sessions very inexpensive for students. I am licensed in Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Connecticut. Very happy to arrange telehealth sessions for students in any of those states.

I work best with college women who are thoughtful, driven, and often putting a lot of pressure on themselves to get things right. You may be struggling with anxiety, people-pleasing, self-doubt, or boundaries, even when you seem confident and capable on the outside. Maybe you overthink decisions, worry about disappointing others, or have a hard time knowing what you actually want or need. Often, these struggles don’t come out of nowhere. Past trauma, abuse, or painful relationships, especially sexual or emotional abuse, can shape how you see yourself, trust yourself, and connect with others. You may find yourself putting your needs aside, keeping the peace, questioning your feelings, or struggling to feel safe and secure in relationships. My private practice focuses on helping teen girls and young adult women heal from complex trauma. I bring more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field and advanced training in trauma-focused approaches, including EMDR and Brainspotting, along with IFS-informed parts work and somatic interventions. Together, we can better understand the experiences and patterns that have shaped you while helping you trust yourself, find your voice, set healthier boundaries, and build more secure relationships. My hope is that you grow in confidence and experience greater freedom to move forward with a stronger sense of who you are and who you were made to be.

“I always worry about something”… “Why do I keep getting into that kind of relationship?”… “That’s when I had my first panic attack”… “I just want to lie in bed all day”… “If I gain weight, no one will want me”… “Food is my drug”… I have heard these things throughout my career, and if you recognize yourself in any of these, I’ll be glad to help you. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders are serious conditions, but they don’t have to control your life. I know from experience that they can be treated successfully. Yes, it’s possible to wake up in the morning and look forward to the day… or learn techniques to get your stress under control… or be surrounded by people who lift you up. I have 10+ years of experience helping people like you. It might feel hopeless right now, but I have witnessed my clients reach their goals and live the life they have always wanted. If you recognize yourself in this profile, give me a call and we can talk about how I can best help you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Have you ever thought to yourself—"I freeze every time I have to perform," "My nerves always get the best of me," "I need someone to talk to, but I don't want to burden anyone," "I feel sad but I'm not sure why," "I'll never be good enough." Do you relate to any of these statements? You are worthy of a better life, and together we can get there. I would be honored to hear your story and help you with performance anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, life transitions, or other issues. I am a firm believer in the power of therapy, that no one is beyond help, and that changing your thoughts can change your life. Whatever stage of life you are in, it is never too late to create a happier life. If you think we would be a good fit, you can call me or send me a message. I look forward to meeting you.

“Who am I?” “What is my purpose?” “I can’t move on.” If you experience or have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, or grief, you are not alone. I understand how hard it can be to ask for help. I believe that having someone in your corner to both validate and challenge you is essential to personal growth.
