Whether its parent/child, husband/wife, wife/wife, husband/husband or any other combination. My goal is to increase communication, understanding and knowledge between people in order to create positive and productive growth. We will focus on barriers and obstacles that may be keeping us from living our best lives, and work together on mapping out a plan for success. As our society becomes more accepting of alternative relationships, the need for added support has increased. I offer that space where individuals can feel comfortable in knowing they are accepted. I am a fully licensed counselor focusing on sexual issues. This ranges from communication to sexual dysfunction and a variety of topics in between. Giving a voice to individuals who may be afraid to be heard is empowering and fulfilling. No one should be afraid to be happy and for me, it is my passion to be uplifting to all. It takes courage and self-compassion to embrace vulnerability. As a therapist working with children, adolescents, and young adults, I strive to create a haven of unconditional positive regard that welcomes and values the whole person. My therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered and attachment-based theories. I emphasize authentic, caring, empathetic, supportive, and collaborative connections. If you're navigating complex and challenging thoughts, feelings, or life experiences, I invite you to continue your journey of exploration and self-discovery with me. Together, we can explore and adjust pathways to develop safe and secure connections with yourself and others. I believe that healing, growth, and change are possible for everyone, both from within ourselves and through experiencing a genuine sense of belonging. Through connection, my hope is to invite and encourage a space for us to explore in depth the underlying challenges that may be causing current pain and stress. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Children's and Adolescent Counseling. I have five years of experience working with children and adolescents in the mental health field, working as a registered behavior technician (RBT) at an ABA clinic, a Family Case Manager at the Indianapolis Department of Child Services, and a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist in an elementary school setting. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young professionals, and adults experiencing interpersonal intricacies, life transitions, executive functioning difficulties, self-esteem and self-image issues, and multicultural identity exploration and formation. I integrate a variety of theoretical orientations in sessions depending on each person's specific needs, such as narrative therapy, internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and attachment theory. I work under the direct clinical supervision of Drew Phillips, LMFT, and the clinical direction of Meg McLeroy, LMFT.
I believe people have the inherent capacity to heal and grow. To support this change, I provide a nonjudgmental, warm, and collaborative therapeutic space. I will work with you to tap into your strengths, gain insight into behaviors that might currently feel stuck or confusing, and learn skills to empower you to effectively deal with stress and emotional ups and downs. My approach is tailored to your specific goals and circumstances, and typically includes a mixture of traditional “talk” therapy with mindfulness, somatic, and trauma-informed practices. I am committed to an anti-oppressive, inclusive approach that welcomes all experiences. I am licensed to provide telehealth in NY, GA, and FL. I also provide in-person sessions in GA.
YJC and Wellness is a non-judgmental space for people from all backgrounds who are looking to resolve issues with a little help from a licensed professional.
I support undergraduate and graduate students who feel stuck and are looking to build a life that feels more meaningful, intentional, and authentic. The college years are full of immense pressure and profound changes, and it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed by it all. Many of the students I work with are trying to navigate anxiety, depression, men’s issues, or ADHD in a high-stakes academic environment. Others are dealing with existential distress - asking big questions about their major, their future, and who they are - or trying to manage the massive life transition of living away from home. Sometimes, the coping mechanisms that got you through high school, including maladaptive ones like avoidance or substance use, just aren't as helpful anymore. My approach to therapy is relational and humanistic. While I use evidence-based techniques, I believe the relationship we build is the most important part of the work. I look beyond clinical labels to understand your unique experience. Think of me as a partner on your journey rather than an observer analyzing you from afar. If you’re feeling weighed down, it’s okay if you don't know exactly what to say. You don’t need a perfectly clear story to start therapy. Reach out to see if we’d work well together. If we aren't the right match, I will gladly help connect you with someone else.
Welcome! With over a decade of experience working with all ages, I support your mental and emotional wellbeing. Remember, it's okay to not be okay sometimes, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Featured in The New York Times, Parents, Forbes and more, I help kids, teens, and adults move from surviving to thriving. Juggling campus life, in addition to the challenges of your personal life can be really difficult and I'm here to help. Whether you hope to address a specific issue or just want to improve the quality of your life, you're in the right place. My approach is gentle, yet firm, compassionate, and laid-back. I tailor treatment to your needs, relying on cognitive behavioral and family systems techniques. I offer in-person and virtual therapy for your convenience. Your next step is to email me, or use the scheduling form on my website to briefly share your concerns. I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation.
