I am thrilled to announce the opening of THRIVE Psychiatric Care, LLC with my partner Elizabeth Morrison AGNP-C, PMHNP- BC. Together we bring over 39 years of psychiatric and primary care experience to the residents of MA. We offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management services to adults age 18 and over in the state of MA. I take an integrative, whole-person approach to care. That means I look beyond symptoms to understand your full story—what’s going on in your body, your environment, and your life—and tailor treatment to you. Whether we’re working together on mood, anxiety, cognitive changes, or managing life transitions, my goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care that aligns with your values and needs.
In my private practice, I work with high school, college, and graduate/professional students. I enjoy working with high-achieving students of all genders, racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am also pleased to see those those who strive to achieve but are facing barriers to academic or personal success. This includes students who are on leave from college for medical, personal, or financial reasons. Because I also consult to schools and colleges, I am very effective at helping students and families navigate educational institutions.

Trying to hold it together in college can be exhausting. If anxiety is constant, your focus is shot, your mood feels unpredictable, or you’re wondering why everything feels harder than it should — this is where we come in. We’re a small psychiatric practice with two experienced nurse practitioners who specialize in medication management for students. We take the time to understand what’s going on, explain things in plain language, and create a plan that fits your life — not just your symptoms. You deserve support that feels thoughtful, not rushed.
I work with college students who are navigating life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, identity questions, trauma, cultural adjustment, or substance use concerns. I provide therapy in English and Mandarin and bring a multicultural perspective and psychodynamic approach to create a warm, supportive space for exploration and growth. My goal is to help my clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to reconnect with themselves and others. With years of post-graduate training at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis (MIP) and the Psychodynamic Institute of New England (PINE), I blend thoughtful insight with compassionate guidance. I see clients in person at my Watertown Square office and via telehealth. I am in-network with BCBS, will soon accept Harvard Pilgrim, and also welcome self-pay clients.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, offering individual psychotherapy to adults who may find themselves stuck, dissatisfied, or overwhelmed. My practice is based in Lexington, MA, where I provide both in-person and virtual treatment. I specialize in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, typically meeting more frequently to support deeper work. Therapy begins by reflecting on your experiences, with an effort to understand them rather than judge them. I take a compassionate approach to exploring your problems, your desire for change, and your difficulties in making changes. Through better understanding your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships, it may become possible to make more informed and meaningful choices. I am collaborative and flexible in my approach, looking for ways to work well together. I provide brief consultations for those seeking help thinking through specific challenges, gaining a professional perspective, or developing strategies for change. When people are struggling in their attempts to do things differently, I aim to help figure out what is getting in their way, a process that can take time but often leads to greater clarity. A therapeutic relationship with someone you trust can be an important path toward self-understanding and emotional relief. Because therapy is a deeply personal experience, it's important to find a therapist you feel comfortable working with. I welcome you to contact me if you're curious to see if this might be a good fit.

Hello! Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or have been in therapy before, I welcome you here. I would also like to recognize your courage and self-awareness for seeking help. College is a unique time in that lots of changes are happening. Perhaps you are feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, or unsure how to proceed; maybe you’re experiencing big transitions in school, relationships, or your sense of self in the world. In my practice, I use a mixture of talk psychotherapy and expressive therapies to help you address these big changes, to know and release emotions in a variety of ways so that you are able to effectively cope when things get hard. We may utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy to help address and change negative thoughts that are holding you back, and trauma-informed practices to help heal emotional wounds. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to counseling so that you feel empowered, confident, and fully supported in our therapeutic work together. I became a therapist because I don’t ever want people to feel they need to weather the storm alone. You deserve care, compassion, validation, and encouragement to keep going. Thank you for considering me a trusted ally in your journey to greater well-being.
