Therapists for college students near 02155
I have a general psychotherapy practice where I help people understand themselves and the ways in which they would like to make changes in their lives, cope with crisis, or manage ongoing difficulties. i have worked in the counseling centers at Brandeis University, Simmons College, Emerson College, and the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. I very much enjoy working with college students who are thinking about who they are and what they want to become. My practice is easily accessible by the T.
At Atlantic Behavioral Health in Wilmington, we’re here for college students from nearby towns—like Middlesex Community College in Bedford, Salem State commuters from Woburn, Endicott College students in Burlington, or Merrimack College folks just a few towns over in North Andover—who are grinding through school but wrestling with mental health hurdles. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for students like you—maybe you’re a Merrimack undergrad swamped by stress from late-night study sessions, or a commuter juggling classes and work but feeling crushed by anxiety that’s tanking your focus. We connect best with those pushing hard but struggling with things like low moods, constant worry, or even gambling habits that started as a distraction but took over. We’re a perfect match for students ready to face feeling off—whether it’s skipping hangouts because you’re drained, reeling from a rough grade or family chaos, or just wanting to clear the mental fog—without putting college on pause. Our clients usually want to get back in the driver’s seat—nailing that group project, chilling with friends, or enjoying a weekend without overanalyzing everything. Right off Route 93, we’re a quick drive from Billerica, Tewksbury, or Andover, and we’re super flexible with morning, afternoon, and evening IOP sessions. Got daytime classes? Our evening sessions let you stay on top of school while getting support after hours. Whether you’re the over-thinker who’s spiraling, the risk-taker who’s lost control of betting, or the quiet one hiding how hard it’s been, our IOP gives you a no-judgment space to sort it out with a team that gets the student hustle. With options to fit your life—morning for early risers, afternoon for mid-day breaks, or evening to keep your days free—we’re here to help you tackle your mental health and keep your college groove. Ready to feel stronger and more like yourself? We’re just a short trip away.
Facing challenges can be difficult for all of us. Some seek therapy in moments of crisis; others are motivated by alleviating uncomfortable feelings and thoughts that can include anxiety, depression, sadness, anger, and so on. Still others seek treatment as part of self-discovery. It’s a privilege to support my clients through their courageous journeys of self-understanding that leads to an improved sense of wellbeing, regardless of the challenges they face. In my opinion, strength is not the absence of problems, but rather having the resilience to face them. I am looking to work with young adults who want to be their best selves. With over a decade of experience treating adolescents and families, I have helped numerous individuals and families experiencing symptoms related to depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, social struggles, addictive behaviors, LGBTQ+ concerns, and more. I mindfully adapt my therapeutic approach to the needs of each client. In talking with me, you will find a therapist who is eager to lead with his ear in order to meet you where you are. My style is compassionate, empathic, welcoming, relational, empowering, and probing. I bring a sense of humor and creativity to our sessions. Your unique challenges require a flexible, evidenced-based, and individualized method of support.
Contending with life's daily pressures can often make it difficult to feel confident in your ability to thrive - and not just barely survive. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, or other concerns, therapy is a safe space where you can engage your existing coping skills and support systems while also discovering and implementing additional strategies and resources. I genuinely believe we have the resilience necessary to make meaningful, lasting changes in our lives. I employ an integrated, systemic approach to therapy and bring humility and cultural sensitivity to every interaction. I have specific experience and interest in working with pregnant and postpartum clients, and I incorporate important concepts such as coping with life transitions, communication, and boundary-setting in my work with every client. I offer supportive, affirming therapy empowering clients to achieve satisfaction in making the changes they seek. I also bring respect and compassion to the therapeutic alliance; my active and empathic listening helps clients feel validated/understood. My goal is to be your ally as we explore your innate strengths and foster your sense of self-affirmation.
Hello! I help clients seeking to become “unstuck,” to meet new challenges, and to navigate relationships and emotions. I help individuals with anxiety, relationships, stress management, self-esteem, and decision making. I primarily use techniques based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I incorporate mindfulness practices if they appeal to the client. I am non-judgmental, warm, and active. I will strive to develop a nuanced understanding and appreciation of your values, needs, and struggles. We will clarify obstacles, evaluate coping strategies, identify personally meaningful goals, and develop skills necessary for a path forward. I have extensive experience with young adults, including those who are in undergraduate, graduate, and early career stages. I understand the unique challenges that this life stage presents and support clients as they navigate their identity, education, careers, and relationships. I also support young adults with time management, organizational skills, goal-setting, and planning. Please reach out for a consultation and to learn about working together.
My goal as a clinician is to help you feel free. In treatment, I will invite you to bring your whole self into the room, as you are. Together, we will work to identify the ways in which you feel stuck and shift unhealthy patterns that keep you from moving forward. There is no need to "have it all figured out." All I ask is that you remain open and curious to the known and unknown parts of yourself. It is my hope that through our work together, you will begin to better know who you are, identify what you want, and live a richer, more meaningful life.
PMHNP stands for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment of common mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, and mood disorders. I prescribe medication when it is clinically appropriate, as it can be an essential component of a comprehensive treatment plan for many mental health conditions. My approach emphasizes collaboration and informed consent. Any medication decisions are made together, ensuring the patient feels comfortable and supported in his/her/their care. Once prescribed, medications are carefully monitored and adjusted as needed to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Rather than focusing only on symptom management, I take a functional, root-cause approach to understanding each person’s presentation. I am currently completing a functional medicine fellowship to deepen this work, and integrate these principles into my care. This includes using lab testing to uncover underlying imbalances, supporting wellness through nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle, and incorporating nutraceuticals or supplements when appropriate to promote lasting improvement.

I have trained in college counseling, community and hospital settings and specialize in treatment interventions tailored to the needs of college-age students. I support individuals of all genders and sexual orientations to feel more connected to themselves, partners, friends and community. I provide an open space to talk about issues related to gender identity and sexuality such as: Increasing self-acceptance, coming out/safety, LGBTQ family building and referral letters for gender affirming medical care.
In my counseling work I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups. My clients include people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. My relational and existential approach helps me understand and connect with my clients. I believe that the intent of therapy is exchanging "symptoms" for "coping skills." To accomplish this transformation, we need to understand our past to shed light on who we are in the present, where we have the power to focus on present issues and make changes that will influence our future. I see psychotherapy as a learning process. I bring my knowledge and understanding of psychological phenomena to bear on my client's life experiences. Psychotherapy is not an easy process, but I work to meet you, the client, where you are and to create safe space to explore and grow. In addition to psychotherapy work, I'm an adjunct faculty at Lesley University, where I teach Introduction to Psychology and Child Psychology. I have completed my psychoanalysis fellowship with the IPE, which is affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine. I'm also a certified Cognitive Behavioral group therapist.
