Therapists for college students near University of Minnesota
I provide individual therapy to adolescents and young adults. My approach centers building connections, offering compassion and staying curious about who you are in the past, present and future; helping you become the author to your own story. I want you to feel seen and heard throughout our time working together. Although I welcome working with a range of client concerns, my areas of special focus include navigating disordered eating, eating disorders, body image, shame and perfectionism, identity exploration and anxiety management. I practice from an intersectional feminist, holistic style approach. Many of my clients are in the early stages of exploring their relationship with identity, food and their bodies. Like all of us, I am a work-in-progress but I constantly strive to be culturally and gender affirming and responsive in my daily practice. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist, I worked in community based non-profits throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. I remain passionate about advocating and supporting youth and families during their healing and growth journeys, as well as promoting access to care. Are you looking for someone to connect to who will listen, empathize, and provide non-judgmental feedback? Are you someone who struggles with emotional expression, anger, and thinks therapy is "not for you"? Are you adjusting to college life and need a bit of support through the transition? I can help. I am a compassionate, genuine, non-judgmental therapist. I focus on creating a safe space in which each individual feels heard and understood while promoting awareness, growth, and change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles as well as have specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a trauma-based therapy approach. It can be so intimidating to take the first step of reaching out to a therapist for support. I get it, I've been there myself, and trust me, it's worth it. When you contact me, I promise to provide a warm and professional consultation to help you decide if I can meet your needs and if we would be a good fit to work together.
I’m a Clinical Psychologist who works with a large number of students and early career professionals navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship and family concerns, and identity-related questions. I believe that therapy is a collaborative and creative process that unfolds through developing a strong alliance with a therapist. I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgemental space for people to name, feel, and share their unique experiences. Although it can be difficult to put your emotional life into words, the decision to do so has the power to open up new ways of knowing and understanding yourself. It can also reveal patterns in your life that you might wish to explore in order to create space for more meaningful and satisfying possibilities. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation, please feel free to reach out.

My aim is to provide a space for you to feel safe. A space where you are important and your words are trusted. A space to be heard, with dignity and without judgement. If you are feeling stuck, lonely, frustrated, or sad in your life or in your relationship(s) you don't need to go through it alone. I see both individuals and couples, including poly and kink. Whether you are dealing with complex trauma or just feeling a little off; nobody’s problems are too big or too small for talk therapy.
You can out-think nearly any problem, situation, or person. You are innovative, curious, and perceptive and your intellect has helped you achieve most of your goals. Yet relationships prove difficult, and when you aren't able to think your way out, you retreat into your mind and detach from others. You become more cynical, abrasive, and nihilistic. Your intelligence has shielded you from difficult questions related to your functioning in relationships with others. You want the same sense of satisfaction and value in relationships that you experience nearly everywhere else. You need a judgment-free place to make meaning through the exploration of your life circumstances, beliefs, and values. I encourage deep thinking and questioning. I won't give you worksheets, and I won't try to align your desires and fears with that of the masses. I appreciate your individuality and encourage you to call forth your inventive, independent, and curious self to all areas of life. It is not enough to just observe and study life, you must participate as well. I'm ready when your are.
Through therapy, CARE Counseling’s clinicians work with you to understand the challenges you are facing while establishing a positive therapeutic relationship to help you create and achieve your goals.

Therapy becomes a collaborative experience where we navigate life's complexities. I understand the importance of attachment and culture in each person's life and bring these unique elements in to the sessions. Therapy is a partnership and I am here to walk through the journey together!

I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, sarcastic human, & fellow unrooter. In a few words, my style is down to earth, collaborative, and relational. Laughter = therapeutic; swearing = basically a pre-req. Oftentimes, the universe seems to enjoy throwing curveballs right when life starts to settle. And it can be damn helpful to have a safe space to sort through it all. I join clients in navigating these ‘unexpecteds’ and strengthening into their ‘you’ in the process.
