I take a person-centered approach to therapy. You, the client, are totally in charge of where this journey takes us. I believe that the core of successful therapy is in the bond between client and therapist. As such, I always meet my clients where they are at and work to build a strong relationship through genuine and honest conversations. I am skilled in CBT/DBT, and I hold a certification in Clinical Trauma Treatment (CCTP). Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults to build introspection, curiosity, and compassion in order to address their concerns with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Listen, life can get really messy, so let's dig in together. Because you are worthy of growth and change and happiness.
Caryn (she/they) is a queer, nonbinary therapist who specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, OCD, and sexual trauma (often the intersection of all three). Using approaches that honor the mind-body connection—such as psychosomatic therapy, IFS, and ERP—Caryn gently pushes clients to change unhelpful patterns and heal longstanding wounds. As an individual and couples’ therapist, Caryn creates a space in which clients can safely engage with the scary stuff without letting it overwhelm them. At the core of their practice is the belief that pleasure is a human right, and they are here to guide clients toward the joy that they deserve. I might be the right therapist for you if… You want to work with someone who Gets It: who understands the nuance of gender and sexuality, who understands your cultural references, and who sees the value in humor as a coping mechanism (aka, I’ll laugh at your jokes!) You want to stop intellectualizing your emotions and actually feel them (or, perhaps, feel them a little less intensely all the time) You keep getting caught in cycles of obsession and/or rumination and don’t know how to stop them or what they mean You want a therapist who is knowledgeable about and affirming of sex work, kink, polyamory, queer folks, neurodiversity, and fat liberation, among others

My philosophy of therapy is collaborative and holistic, and I aim to meet my clients where they’re at to inspire change. I am most passionate about working with queer people who have difficulty being fully authentic. We can work together to dismantle the stories and systems that have impacted this and cultivate greater self-compassion and self-awareness in who you are. In therapy with me, my clients feel seen and encouraged to show up as their authentic selves. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my expertise is in relationships and seeing things through a systemic lens. I have experience working with folks with anxiety or depression that can interrupt their ability to live a full life, sometimes facing unsteady relationships and hoping for more security. Together, we can work to make sense of difficult relationships, own and advocate for your feelings and needs in relationships, and identify and set boundaries with others. My experience is in working with teens and adults in the context of individual, couples, or family therapy.

Find your fit at Intuitive Healing as you navigate your relationships, family, school, life in a new city, and beyond. Our compassionate, curious, and non-judgmental approach to psychotherapy at Intuitive Healing is an effective way to begin down the path of introspection. We believe you are powerful—that you can change your circumstances and experience. You know complicated problems don’t have simple solutions. We work closely with you, trying to understand what it’s like to be you, so your life can be more like you want it to be. We are open and non-judgmental. We work psychodynamically. We listen well, and bring a curiosity to your experience that can help you perceive choices and options you didn’t know were possible.
"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." ~Rumi
Many of the clients I work best with are international students navigating life far from home—often balancing academic pressure, cultural adjustment, and questions of identity and belonging, all while holding emotions they may not feel safe expressing elsewhere. They may appear high-functioning on the outside, yet feel disconnected, lonely, or uncertain inside. Our work together offers a space to slow down, make sense of what they’re carrying, and reconnect with parts of themselves that have been silenced or split across languages, cultures, or expectations.
TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. Life is full of constant change that we are learning how to navigate every day. Often, adjusting to these changes can bring up a range of emotions including anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has the potential and ability to adapt to these ever-changing challenges in constructive ways that allow them to expand their lives. Our therapeutic relationship would be a source of kindness, calmness, and empowerment in your life. My hope is that therapy can be a safe space for you to share and clarify your values and motivations. By exploring your current habits and patterns, we can bring awareness to what is working well for you and transform the less effective methods into constructive actions that help bring you closer to feeling your best. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel a little intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have or to schedule a free consultation before starting therapy together. Hi my name is Kimberlin and i am a licensed therapist in NY. My passion lies in supporting clients to build confidence and self-esteem, foster a positive body-image, navigate dating and break ups, work with couples through all stages of their relationship, ease anxieties through developing coping skills, uncover individual strengths, and nurture the relationship one has with themselves.
I work with my clients on exploring underlying patterns, unresolved conflicts, and deep-seated emotional concerns that have been causing distress in their relationships with themselves and others. With authenticity and compassion, I work collaboratively with my clients through relationship and attachment issues, depression, anxiety, self-doubt, shame, loneliness, and childhood trauma, toward greater clarity and fulfillment. I foster a thoughtful space for navigating life transitions, complex family dynamics, questions of identity and purpose, as well as overall feelings of being stuck or lost. I understand that trust takes time and care to develop. Together, we’ll cultivate a relationship in which you can come to feel safe and free to express what’s troubling you. I’ll help you make better sense of what you’ve been struggling with and why, and support you in tuning into and working toward what well-being might look and feel like for you. Talking together with honesty and curiosity can deepen your understanding of yourself and your experiences and build resilience, which both support authentic, lasting growth. As this process unfolds, it can help you make changes that foster a more integrated sense of self, greater connection in relationships, and a stronger sense of meaning in life. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, sexuality or relationships? Life comes with struggles and transitions that are often difficult to manage on our own. Together we will identify how your life experiences have brought you to this point and with this increased awareness give you tools that in turn will help reduce distress, create better ways of coping, and promote healing that allows for greater sense of enjoyment, perspective and balance and in your life overall.
I view the therapeutic relationship as similar to canoeing - it requires you to provide the steering, while I supply the momentum, and motivation and commitment from both of us to get to the destination. In our work together, I believe in giving you space to explore your story, as it was, as it is, as you want it to be, in a safe, supportive, empowering way that will, in time, allow you to feel confident and secure within your mind, body, and relationships. Within my practice, I utilize eco-therapy as a means to build an objective, curious, and comfortable relationship with the physical world around us, in order to practice building that same relationship within ourselves and with the people around us. It can feel so easy to get swept up in judgemental, shame-based thoughts, creating false perceptions, emotional pain and isolation. And yet, in the same way we prepare for cold winter nights or sweltering summer heat, so too can we weather the storms of our social and emotional worlds. To orient our work towards achieving your therapeutic goals, I work with Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, existential therapy, somatic therapy, animal therapy, ecotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, CBT and mindfulness practices. Utilizing this interdisciplinary blend we can identify and work through the obstacles to then find ways to move forward and love yourself into creating your ideal reality. I accept individuals, couples and families of all genders, identities, religions, and backgrounds. With a client-centered approach I believe you are the greatest expert of your own life, and in order to effectively row this canoe I ask for trust, honesty, commitment, curiosity, and engagement, so I, in return, will provide compassion, patience, knowledge, and reflection.

We keep therapy simple so everyone can get the support they need without judgment or labels. It doesn’t matter how big or small your concern is — if there’s something that’s getting in the way of your health and happiness, our therapists are here to help. You may be surviving and going through the motions of daily life, but we think you deserve more.
I help people feel better and improve their lives with music psychotherapy. If you are suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction or everyday stress with relationships, work or family. If you want a fluid and creative approach to therapy that helps you go deep to the core of your issues, I can help. I am particularly passionate about working with those who identify as LGBTQIA+, especially trans and GNC folx. In a world full of stigma, with so much pressure to conform to a heteronormative society, being trans or GNC can be an isolating and scary experience. I can help you on your journey to become your true self.
