For many queer, non-binary, and trans people, grief is not always recognized or supported. There is no casserole, no card. This may include family lost after coming out, a faith community that turned away, the loss of a beloved pet, grief related to sexuality or intimacy, or the changes brought by chronic illness. Some may also be carrying grief connected to earlier trauma that was never fully acknowledged. Unrecognized grief can be especially isolating. You may find yourself carrying something real and significant that others have overlooked or questioned. Therapy offers a place where this grief can be tended with care. I offer LGBTQ+ centered grief therapy online in Georgia and New York. Because grief is not a problem to solve, my approach is compassionate, steady, and unhurried. I pay particular attention to relationships and losses that were real, even if others didn’t see them that way. I support clients through losses that often go unrecognized. As a lesbian therapist, I understand what it can mean to grieve without witness. I specialize in losses that go unseen and am especially drawn to supporting LGBTQ+ elders navigating aging, caregiving, and loss. Reaching out can feel vulnerable. If you're looking for a place where your grief can be acknowledged and supported, I am here when you are ready.

I have a virtual private practice although I do see clients in person some Saturday mornings. Based in cognitive behavioral therapy, several years ago I also began working with energy and infuse EFT Tapping into sessions. EFT Tapping for College Students: Feel calmer, think clearer, and stay grounded—one tap at a time. College life can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Between deadlines, exams, social pressure, and figuring out your future, stress can build up fast. EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a simple, effective tool that helps reduce anxiety, ease emotional tension, and bring your mind back to a calmer state—anytime, anywhere. What Is EFT Tapping? EFT is a gentle method that combines light tapping on specific acupressure points with mindful attention to your thoughts and feelings. It’s easy to learn, takes only a few minutes, and can be done discreetly—even in a dorm room, study hall, or before a big exam. How EFT Can Help You Students use tapping to: Reduce stress before exams or presentations Ease feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, or sadness Improve focus and emotional balance Build confidence during demanding times Release tension after a tough day Why It Works Tapping helps calm the body’s stress response, allowing you to shift from “fight-or-flight” mode back into a more relaxed, grounded state. Many students find that even a short session helps them feel lighter, clearer, and more in control. You don’t have to push through stress alone. EFT tapping is a practical, empowering tool you can carry with you through every semester. I work with individuals, couples, and families through a primarily psychodynamic framework. Through insight-oriented work with a focus on interpersonal relationship dynamics, attachment, and family systems, it is my goal to help the people I work with uncover repressed trauma from childhood and adolescence in order to gain a more nuanced understanding about their unhealthy relationship dynamics, from past and present, in order to live healthier and more fulfilling lives. I enjoy helping my patients develop a deeper sense of self-awareness in order to understand their emotional and interpersonal struggles. There are many different approaches to therapy, and it is my belief that it is best to adapt to the needs of each person I work with. We often learn to understand ourselves, and the actions and behaviors of others, through the lens of our early life experiences. It is my goal to help you disentangle the complex webs that we all form, which may feel insurmountable to conquer alone. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where we will explore uncharted areas of your life to make connections between prior experiences and current emotions in order to develop insight and growth. I strive to foster a compassionate healing environment in which I will help you form inner coping resources, so you may develop healthy relationships, gain self-esteem, and find relief from emotional distress. It is my goal to tailor treatment to fit your individual needs. Some of the most rewarding aspects of my work involve being able to assess your strengths, share that information with you, and help you implement those strengths in a positive way. When you are ready to take the next step, please call or email me for a complimentary phone consultation. I look forward to meeting you soon. *I am currently seeing patients for both virtual and in-person appointments.
