Is 2026 sucking the life out of you? Social media getting you down? Are you navigating the high stress of academics, sports and situationships? Do you wake up every day filled with a sense of existential dread? I can help! Therapy doesn't have to be intimidating (hint: if you're using ChatGPT as your therapist, you might as well talk to a real one). Shoot me a message when you're ready to address your underlying anxiety about the current state of affairs (global and/or personal)! I promise there are better coping skills that don't involve excess coffee, doomscrolling and binge drinking. Let’s work together to make change happen! I have over 14 years of experience working directly with people struggling with chemical dependency, substance use, and behavioral addictions including co-occurring disorders/mental health issues like Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, trauma, relationship issues, neurodiversity, grief/loss, gender identity issues, and general life stressors. Whether you're looking to vent, laugh, cry, or do 12+ sessions of specific EBP based therapeutic protocols, everyone is different and deserves an individual approach. Let me know what you're looking for so I can accommodate your preferences.

College asks a lot of you. Perform, achieve, figure out who you are, all at the same time, often while managing anxiety, pressure, and expectations that never seem to let up. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone and you're not broken. I'm a therapist who works with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, identity, and athletic pressure. As a former athlete myself, I have a particular understanding of what it's like to tie your sense of worth to performance, and what it takes to untangle that. My approach draws on neuroscience and the mind-body connection, so we don't just talk about what's happening. We actually work to change it. This is a space where you don't have to have it figured out. You just have to show up. Fun Fact I'm a former athlete who discovered that the mental side of performance is where the real work happens. That realization is a big part of why I became a therapist.

Lowe, LCSW PLLC
When you make the decision to attend therapy, you are making the decision to prioritize your wellbeing in a fundamentally unique way. Therapy is something that can be challenging, but also transformative– Especially for those who have not been listened to, believed, or had the freedom to pause and practice introspection due to the demands of life. Knowing the challenges of finding a therapist who can understand your life experiences, I prioritize working with communities with whom I share personal experience. This includes, but is not limited to: LGBTQIA+, polyamorous/ENM, BDSM/kink, sex worker, SA/DV survivors, neurodivergent, chronically ill & disabled communities. My work is grounded in Relational-Cultural Therapy, which emphasizes the importance of the relationship between therapist and client as an essential part of the therapeutic process. I aim to minimize power dynamics in the room between therapist and client, and firmly believe you are the expert of your life. Rather than an authority in the room, I see my role as a collaborator in helping you achieve your therapy goals. For those who wish to know my social location: I am a Black, queer, disabled, neurodivergent, polyamorous, non-binary therapist in my 30s. I come from a middle-class background in a mixed race household, am a US citizen, and was raised Catholic but am not religious. I approach therapy as a team effort grounded in trauma-informed, anti-racist, fat liberatory, sex & kink positive, and feminist ideals. My therapy practice is eclectic, borrowing from multiple modalities in order to find the best approach for each individual client, couple, or polycule. Common approaches I incorporate include: EFT (emotion focused therapy), IFS (internal family systems), Sex Therapy, and Attachment Theory. I work with clients on a variety of topics, but special interests include: Unpacking attachment wounds using IFS; Transition stages in Poly/ENM; Freedom from shame regarding sex & kink; Impacts of disability; Relationships to health, disordered eating, and/or fatness from a fat liberatory and body neutrality lens. You’ve been holding it together for a long time, maybe for everyone else, maybe just to keep life moving. On the surface, things look fine, but inside you might feel tired, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of what’s next. You’ve tried to manage it on your own, but the same patterns keep showing up in relationships, work, or how you talk to yourself. I work with adults ready for meaningful change, who are navigating stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or life transitions. Together, we’ll uncover what’s holding you back and build tools to help you feel grounded, confident, and connected. My approach is active, collaborative, and practical. I bring warmth, humor, and curiosity to the work while helping you explore what’s underneath the surface and create the shifts you want. I draw from evidence-based methods including CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy but I’ll always tailor our sessions to what works best for you. I offer virtual therapy for adults across New York State. Whether you’re struggling with stress, communication, self-esteem, or finding balance in your life, therapy can be a space to slow down, gain clarity, and reconnect with yourself. If you’re ready to stop carrying everything on your own, call or email me for a free 15-minute consultation.

Therapy is a collaboration between therapist and client. My goal is to understand where you are at this moment in your life, help you to identify your goals and work with you, as a partner, to attain them. My approach to individual therapy is short term and goal oriented. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address a wide range of problems (see problems treated below). These skills based approaches allow individuals to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors, improve awareness of, and control over emotions, increase tolerance of difficult emotions, and enhance ability to live mindfully in the present moment. Throughout treatment we will monitor your progress and make any necessary changes to help you continue moving towards your goals. Therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes weekly, though this may vary based on the type of treatment. Therapy can be brief (12-16 sessions) or may last longer depending on your presenting problems and goals.
