Hello! I want to help you get back to living your life as soon as possible. You'll find me to be passionate about providing a safe, confidential, supportive, and collaborative environment for you. My approach is influenced by my values of honesty, responsibility, accountability, compassion, and respect. I practice primarily from a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) perspective meaning I focus closely on the interconnectedness of your thoughts/beliefs/values, feelings, and behaviors to help you work toward your goals. I also utilized dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing techniques. I treat a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues. I enjoy working with athletes on stressors or performance related issues. I have worked in a variety of settings in the mental health field. I am currently participating in PSYPACT which allows me the privilege of practicing virtually in 40 states (and growing). Finding the right "fit" in a therapist is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle. Once we meet, if we determine that we are not a fit, I'd be happy to guide you to someone who can and/or provide you with resources that may better help. I look forward to meeting you.

"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If not now, when?" -Hillel Are you struggling with anxiety or depression related to school, parenting or postpartum, employment, retirement, a relationship, family or a major life transition? Have you had difficulty managing relationships with those around you due to anxiety or depression? Maybe you have struggled with these feelings for a long period of time and you haven't figured out how to address them. Perhaps these unnerving feelings came on suddenly and you are not sure how to cope with the discomfort. I aim to help clients recognize their unhelpful negative thoughts and manage them with in-the-moment techniques. We can work to identify and tackle them together. Practical feedback often helps to normalize behaviors that are long-standing while helping one move away from shame toward acceptance. Having worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years, my expertise lies in confidence, self worth and self esteem skill building, anxiety and stress management and support with life transitions. Treatment may include but is not limited to strengths based therapy, solution focused therapy, executive functioning management, exposure therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I tailor it to what it is that you need throughout our work together. We make things practical. *I offer in person and virtual therapy. Fees and Insurance: I am licensed to practice and accept clients from the following states: NY, PA, NJ, CT, FL, TX, IL and IN. If you use out of network benefits, I will provide you with a Superbill for reimbursement but please do check with your insurance company as each plan is different. Please reach out to discuss.
If you are wondering why you may be attracting the same type of partner or repeating the same types of losses in your relationships or friendships, then I am here to help you through it. Working through your attachment and unlearning some behaviors picked up in childhood can be done. Goals are meant to work in small attainable steps. While I am intuitive, I like to keep it real with you. What that means is that I will work with you in a direction that is suited to your needs. Very often, symptoms and issues overlap and are correlated. When you work with me, we will collaborate to focus on the challenging areas of your life, manage stresses from your environment and body, and develop strategies to overcome unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior. While I prefer to see clients in my office, I also provide online therapy on a HIPAA compliant video platform. When we first meet, we'll discuss your history and your concerns. I am passionate about helping individuals on their path to self-discovery and leading a genuine and authentic life. Drawing upon my background in counseling and neuroscience, I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and existentialism into my approach. I also offer Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration therapy. I aim to help individuals cultivate openness, awareness, and engagement with themselves, their loved ones, and the world around them. By incorporating meditation, relevant literature, art, and nature, I aim to create a holistic therapeutic experience. These elements enrich the exploration of subjective experiences, self-perception, and the profound aspects of existence. ACT emphasizes acceptance of one's thoughts, emotions, and experiences, while also encouraging commitment to taking meaningful action aligned with one's values. In our sessions, I guide individuals to develop psychological flexibility, allowing them to respond more effectively to life's challenges and pursue a rich and purposeful life. While I am excited to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, I have a special interest in supporting those who experience chronic conditions such as pain, grief, psychosis, and trauma. Together, we will delve into meaningful discussions about topics like death, identity, and the transformative potential within each person's existence.

We are Pennsylvania's premier therapy & assessments centers. We’re not simply counselors for your mind. We specialize in a results-based, individualized approach to healing and mental well being. People come to me because they are struggling and feel stuck or overwhelmed. I see lots of college students in my practice and specialize in working with people who are challenged by anxiety, ADHD, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (level 1) but I have experience with many different issues. My approach involves providing information about how the brain works, how to use it as your ally instead of an enemy, and how to find strength in the very things that challenge you. (ex: There are so many wonderful things about having ADHD!) I do this in the context of interpersonal relationships where we talk about things like identity and communication/conflict resolution skills. I also work with people going through a major life transition. I will help you to sort through your feelings and options, work with you to find insights that inspire positive decisions and changes, and help you to be patient with yourself as you work to figure things out. I pride myself as being an LGBTQ affirming therapist. 15 minute walk from WCU. I also have free, off-street parking. Rates listed below are my discount rates for registered students and not my full rate.

During her time spent as the Team Lead (assistant manager) of a Pennsylvania county crisis intervention program, she was also on the county’s DCORT team. All of these certifications are designed to help mental health professionals respond within the community to reduce the rate of suicide and trauma symptoms associated with impactful events. Abby is currently part of Westmoreland County’s Suicide Task Force, Ray of Hope, and the county L.O.S.S. Team. She is also a board member of Metamorphosis Begins. Abby utilizes evidence-based approaches to help clients to achieve their goals. She believes that individuals are the experts in their lives, but sometimes get “stuck” and need help “getting out”. Abby works with her clients to help them to access their strengths and develop approaches that are centered on their personal objectives. Through this approach, the client is able to build their “toolbox” by gaining “tools”, or skills, to help them move forward with the healthy life they desire.

My therapeutic approach is dependent on what your needs and goals are as I believe that you are the expert on your own life. I specialize in treating anxiety, trauma, autism, ADHD, stress, and depression for around ages 5 to 29. I often utilize and I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Solution Focused therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Supportive Family therapy, and Mindfulness-Based therapy. I also can incorporate art and sand tray techniques into sessions. I believe having a good therapeutic relationship with you is essential to starting the journey into therapy. It is also important that you feel comfortable and safe when you are with me to allow yourself to fully be you.
I love working with clients who want to better themselves. Whether it be understanding yourself or your identity, conquering anxiety, or working through relationships, I partner with clients to reach their goals and set themselves up for success. Some mental health concerns that I can help with include: ADHD, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, identity (including LGBT, religion, and others), imposter syndrome, and more. Clients can expect a younger therapist who isn’t afraid to use humor and who isn’t afraid to call out potential stuck points. I am also culturally competent and offer services in both English and Spanish.

College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. I work with college students and young adults struggling with anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, body image concerns, stress, perfectionism, and major life transitions. Many of my clients feel pressure to have everything figured out while quietly battling self-doubt, burnout, or overwhelming emotions. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can develop practical tools, gain insight, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges. Together, we'll work toward helping you feel more balanced, connected, and empowered, while having a little fun along the way!
