Hi! I'm from Pittsburgh and proud to be practicing in my home town. Therapy ranges from directive to less structured approaches. Directive approaches involve identifying a specific problem and starting interventions including skill building for the client. Less directive therapy involves self exploration and understanding our symptoms in an interpersonal context. These two approaches can be combined, tailored to the client. The client's responsibility is committing to therapy, and showing up weekly at the designated time, and engaging in the process. While the therapist is an expert in psychology, the client is an expect in themselves and is ultimately the source of change and improvement. I see myself as a guide, helping the client see things they may have missed or avoided, and making connections that wouldn't otherwise be obvious. The process is collaborative and frequently rewarding.

My ideal client is someone who is dedicated to finding a way to thrive in this life. My approach uses positive psychotherapy to find those things about you that are special and help you to grow them. My ideal client is someone who not only wants to address the things that are going wrong in their lives, but someone who also wants to identify what is great about their life and find ways to build on that. Positive psychotherapy is about promoting your well-being as a whole person. We do this by defining what well-being is and looking at ways it is being achieved or not achieved in our clients. Additionally, we will look closely at your character strength and find ways of sharpening them so as to contribute to your overall happiness. Life is filled with joy and challenge. Our job as people is to find meaning in those struggles that make up our day-to-day life. Together, you and I will work to find YOUR meaning and to create strategies that will strengthen you as you grow and thrive in your life as you live it.

I work with most mental health concerns but specialize in trauma recovery and working with LGBTQIA+ identified individuals. Please see my website for more in depth information about me and my work. You're exhausted. Not just tired, exhausted. The kind that sleep doesn't touch. You've been holding it together, pushing through, showing up for everyone else. And somewhere along the way, you stopped feeling like yourself. Maybe you've tried therapy before. Read the books, downloaded the apps, done the work. And yet here you are, same patterns, same weight, same wall. That doesn't mean you're broken. It means you haven't found the right fit yet. This is a space where you don't have to perform progress or have the perfect words ready. Just come as you are. About my approach: I use EMDR, Narrative, Emotion-Focused, and attachment-based approaches all grounded in cultural humility. But honestly? My clients usually come in expecting someone serious and clinical. Then they realize I laugh easily, I swear sometimes, and yes, I will absolutely do a mini chair-dance when you hit a milestone. No poker face here. About me: I'm a first-generation Latinx, LGBTQIA+ woman who grew up in a multigenerational household where family, community, and education weren't just values, they were survival. That lived experience shows up in how I work: with warmth, cultural humility, and full presence.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. After ten years of experience in the field, I decided to open New Beginnings Therapeutic Services. My vision was to create a client-centered practice, that allows individuals to feel safe and comfortable from the second they step through the door. It is my goal to create a space for clients to share their most intimate thoughts and feelings, and for those thoughts to be received without judgment. We all make mistakes and struggle, but everyday is a New Beginning and a chance to create positive change in our lives. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other treatment modalities I assist client's in learning the tools they need to create lasting change in their lives. I know that sometimes finding a therapist can be challenging and anxiety provoking. Strong therapeutic rapport is the foundation for effective therapy, therefore I offer free consultations to aid in the decision making process. Call or e-mail me today and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Six Ten Counseling

Easton, PA

Six Ten Counseling is a group practice of 19 licensed therapists in Easton, PA — five minutes from Lafayette College and an easy drive from Lehigh, Moravian, and Northampton Community College. We work with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, eating concerns, substance use, grief, relationship stress, and identity exploration, and our practice is LGBTQ+ affirming. We know reaching out is often the hardest part, so we've made starting simple: no referral needed, we respond within one business day, and instead of assigning whoever's next, we listen to what you're working through and match you with a counselor whose training and approach actually fit. If the fit isn't right, we'll transfer you to another counselor in our practice — no awkwardness. Sessions are available in person at our Easton office or by secure telehealth anywhere in Pennsylvania or New Jersey — which means care can continue uninterrupted over winter break, summer, or after graduation for students from either state. We're in-network with Aetna, Capital Blue Cross, Cigna, Geisinger, Highmark, Horizon BCBS, Optum, Anthem, and UnitedHealthcare, including most student and parent plans, and we're happy to verify coverage before a first session. Our counselors hold advanced certifications in EMDR for trauma, perinatal mental health, addiction counseling, and trauma-focused care. Currently accepting new clients.

We believe that psychological well-being and healing come from our ability to foster awareness, understanding and acceptance of our experience of life as a whole - the good, the bad and everything in between. Talking with a therapist can often help facilitate this kind of personal growth. We believe that through developing a trusting relationship, therapist and client can explore aspects of the client’s struggle and the experience of relating to each other in deeper, more honest and productive ways. While each therapist in our practice has a unique approach to the work, we all share a deep appreciation for the importance of meaning making and lived experience in understanding human experience and effective therapy.
