Therapists for college students near Pittsburgh, PA
As our name reflects, our counseling services focus on relationships because, after all, we all occupy at least one of these relationship roles: spouse, parent, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, child, friend, co-worker, employer, and employee. Whether the problem is a recent or impending personal loss; conflicted, confusing, or distant relationships; trauma or abuse; struggles at work or home; or bouts with depression or anxiety, we are here to help.
College can be exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. Whether you’re figuring out who you are, navigating friendships or relationships, managing anxiety or depression, dealing with stress, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, I offer a warm, supportive space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. I believe therapy should feel collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you. Together, we’ll explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be getting in the way of feeling more grounded, connected, and confident. My approach combines practical coping skills with opportunities for deeper self-understanding, helping you build self-compassion and create meaningful change. Young adulthood comes with a lot of transitions such as starting college, exploring identity, balancing academics and relationships, preparing for life after graduation, or simply trying to keep up with everything on your plate. Therapy can be a place to slow down, process what you’re going through, and reconnect with what matters most to you. You don’t have to navigate it all on your own. Wherever you are in your journey, I’d be honored to support your growth, healing, and the life you’re creating for yourself.

I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy with older adolescents, young adults and adults. Psychodynamic psychotherapy fosters self-understanding and facilitates meaningfulness, satisfaction and efficacy in relationships and work. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can help you: experience greater enjoyment in your life; deepen your understanding of yourself and others; improve your mood; manage stress and reduce anxiety; gain insight into, and change, self-defeating patterns of thinking and behaving; learn new problem-solving skills; become more productive at work or school. My office location: 401 Shady Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
Are you going through times of high emotions and stress? Let me help. You deserve an experienced and competent professional that works with you to explore your situation with respect and compassion. Together, we will get to the heart of the problem and find fresh ways of managing your situation. I collaborate with you to help move you toward healthy change. I have a flexible approach that takes the best parts of different treatments and uses them in a way that fits your needs. I especially love helping individuals with social issues, such as anxiety and relationship issues.
I have worked with a variety of populations and settings including individuals, couples, and groups. I have experience with many areas including substance use, ADHD and neurodivergence, couples therapy, trauma and recovery, anxiety, depression, and BPD. I enjoy working with couples, groups, and individuals ages 15-70. I work to customize the style and path of treatment to your individualized needs. This means I use multiple different approaches and take elements from existing styles to help you reach your goals. I employ a collaborative approach to reach your goals and create a relationship based on safety and free of judgment. I work with couples, teens, adults, and marginalized identities of any sort (race, gender, age, sexual orientation, etc.) I find it easy to work with most people, and especially with those who are neurodivergent, or suffer from anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and some personality disorders. I encourage anyone to reach out. Taking that first step is always difficult, and the fear that you may not find someone you mesh with is valid. I hope to work together with new and prospective clients to build a relationship based on trust and connection, or work to find them someone who will be a better fit.
Hey! My name is Ainsley, and I’m a trans, queer, neurodivergent, and physically disabled therapist. I love stories. Telling them, reading them, writing them, and most important in my career—listening to them. I believe there is unmistakable power in a person’s story that leads to greater connection, purpose, and understanding. Speaking from personal experience, our life stories change rapidly! Sometimes this is wonderfully exciting. But, it can be isolating to feel like your story has changed so quickly that you’re no longer its author. My passion as a therapist stems from wanting to help others reconnect with themselves, live authentically, and reclaim their narrative. Of course, authenticity is a two-way street, so I’ll be showing up fully as myself—with my multi-colored mullet, fidget toys, and whichever glasses frames match best with my outfit that day. (: I fully encourage you to show up in whatever way feels most comfortable to you, even if that changes on a weekly basis. I became a therapist because I enjoy working with people and helping to brainstorm solutions. I started my career as a teacher, and quickly found myself in the depths of AuDHD burnout. I knew I wanted to help people, and that I loved being a small part of someone’s journey to success. But, I felt that my creativity and identity as an advocate were stifled by the school system. As a therapist, the pieces of myself that others viewed as “too much” are now my strengths. In my internship experience, I received training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed approaches. While I may use DBT in practice to aid in emotional regulation, my integrative approach also draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and person-centered work. I have extensive experience working with children and teens, who are some of my favorite clients. I’ve been known to incorporate creativity and special interests whenever I can! Music, art, and video games are great tools to process emotions! While you can expect each session to start similarly—with a check-in that is not just the dreaded “How are you today?”—I look forward to collaborating with you to make our time together worthwhile and meaningful. We might be a good match if any of the following resonates with you: You’re exploring gender and/or sexuality and you want a therapist who shares queer and trans identities. You suspect you might be neurodivergent, and feel totally lost. Your previous therapists just haven’t “clicked” with you, or you haven’t felt affirmed. Traditional “talk therapy” doesn’t do it for you, or you’d like a more creative approach to sessions. You’re struggling with anxiety that leaves you emotionally and physically drained. You’ve been told you have “big emotions,” are “too sensitive,” or are “too much” for others. You want to build greater self-esteem or a better relationship with your mind and body. Life is tough, and opening up to a stranger by pursuing therapy is even tougher. I commend you for taking this step and would be honored to be a part of your next chapter. You’ve got this.
You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by grief, impacted by past trauma, or struggling with persistent feelings of depression. Perhaps you’re an adult who appears “high-functioning” on the outside but feels emotionally exhausted on the inside, or you’re seeking a deeper sense of stability, clarity, and relief from distressing or painful symptoms that have begun to interfere with daily life. You may be looking for therapy that is both compassionate and effective—something that goes beyond just talking and helps you experience real, lasting change, while building skills enabling resilience and growth. I specialize in working with adults who are navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. With over ten years of experience in the mental health field, I use evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other integrative modalities. Beginning therapy takes courage, and I understand how vulnerable it can feel to reach out for support. Our work will move at a pace that feels right for you, and you are always in control of what you choose to share. You’re welcome to ask questions and take time to build trust as we get to know each other. Reach out to see if I'm the right fit for you.
You deserve a space where you are free from empty promises of "healing" or this week’s new buzzwords. Naturally, I like to keep things simple up front. My work with folks typically focuses on some combination of High Intelligence/Giftedness, Autism/ADHD, and OCD. Often, these are paired with Depression, Anxiety, and/or trauma. I also tend to work with those who identify as LGBTQIA+. I find that a crucial part of working with the folks I do is being able to “just get” a lot of the shame, struggle, and frustration they carry, which I feel I can do quite well both intuitively/personally and professionally. In specific terms, I integrate existential philosophies, Lacanian theory, and schema therapy perspectives in my practice. I think it's important to acknowledge our more conscious thinking alongside the behind-the-scenes parts of our brain that often do a lot of heavy lifting. Sometimes, though, the best we can do is focus on the here-and-now through processing or learning coping strategies, which is okay! A central part of my work is autonomy and empowerment. People should be able to set the goals that make sense for themselves. This world places plenty of expectations on others, but fortunately, this is not a space that reinforces this. No expectations are made for session, just a space tailor-made for you. I’m now pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. In my future, I hope to be able to further improve the lives of the folks I see both with clinical practice and with research. In my free time, I can often be found playing the guitar I built, playing the piano, or clicking away on a mouse and keyboard to the tune of various video games. That is, when I don’t have my eyes glued to a good research article or new book.
You're showing up to class, turning in the assignments, smiling in the group chat — and falling apart the second you're alone. If you're exhausted from holding it together for everyone but yourself, you're not broken. You're carrying more than anyone can see, and it's time someone helped you put it down. At Peace-Filled, we work with college students navigating the pressure to perform — academically, socially, online, and at home. Whether it's anxiety that won't switch off, a depression you've gotten good at hiding, family expectations that don't leave room for who you actually are, or a past you haven't had the space to process — we get it, and we know how to help you move through it. Our therapists are diverse, culturally grounded, and trained in trauma-focused care. We don't hand you generic coping tips and call it a day. We help you understand why you feel stuck, build the tools to actually change it, and walk with you while you do — virtually or in person, on your schedule. You don't have to have it all figured out to reach out. You just have to be ready to feel lighter.
I am a weight-inclusive, trauma-informed licensed Clinical Psychologist offering a therapeutic space where clients can reconnect with themselves and others by gaining insight into their relationships. My aim is to work with you to create positive and lasting change. I specialize in the treatment of disordered eating (including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, obesity and body image concerns) as well as co-occurring mood disorders. In addition, I have extensive experience treating a wide range of concerns including significant life transitions, anxiety, stress and relationship difficulty (room mates, partners, etc.). I also have experience in working with individuals in academic and medical profession. I treat adolescents and adults. I work with my client's treatment team that may include your psychiatrist, dietician, and PCP as well as family and other supports. The foundation of my therapeutic work is the relationship between me and my client. When appropriate I incorporate techniques from other modalities.
College life can feel like a lot sometimes. It’s “supposed” to be fun, but there’s often so much to navigate that it ends up feeling overwhelming. I often work with students dealing with anxiety, relationship stress, and social or family worries — whether that means overthinking, feeling unsure in friendships or dating, or trying to make sense of complicated dynamics. Many students come in wanting to understand their reactions and emotions, and to feel more in control of their anxiety so it doesn’t interfere with their college experience. In our sessions, I’m committed to creating a warm, supportive space where you can feel safe exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. With patience and careful listening, I offer insights and guidance in a gentle, thoughtful, and non-judgmental way. Together, we’ll slow things down so you can make sense of what’s happening beneath the stress — the patterns, experiences, and dynamics that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and more grounded, so you can move through college with greater confidence and a stronger connection to yourself.
I offer telehealth sessions for convenience when transportation is complicated to coordinate or scheduling is difficult. I work with clients on relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. More specifically, social anxiety, family struggles, and impacts of ADHD and OCD. I am also trained in AEDP and work with students who have big T and little T trauma histories.

Eudaimonia is a professional mental health practice. We are helping individuals improve their overall well-being through introspection, education, skills-building, therapy, and medication. We recognize that wellness looks different for each individual, so we tailor our approach to suit each client's specific needs. Our wellness practice strives to be a space where patients are comfortable providing some of their most intimate thoughts to their clinicians and reassured by the fact that they are receiving quality care.
