As a clinician, Dr. Lee primarily sees high-achieving BIPOC clients working in Big Tech and in the creative industry. He was heavily involved in San Francisco’s AAPI community clinics, including acting as the mental health lead for Asian American Recovery Services and helped train counselors at North East Medical Center, one of the first non-profits to serve the medically-underserved AAPI population in the nation. Most of his clients are members of the APIDA community, who are dealing with anxiety, depression, ethnic identity formation, life transitions, and racial/intergenerational trauma. College students are going through transitional times in their lives. They are learning how to navigate life on their own while balancing new responsibilities, changes in relationships, and the building of their adult identities. Many find themselves feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, or lost when unforeseen challenges come their way, their life expectations aren’t met, or childhood wounds become harder to ignore. I support clients with coping with current life stressors, overcoming perfectionism and people-pleasing, and processing grief and trauma from the past.
I work frequently with young adults as they manage increasing independence, college and work. I understand the challenges involved with balancing academic requirements, personal stressors and self care. Additionally, I am experienced in helping clients who are wanting to change their relationship patterns and behaviors, and those struggling to find effective ways to deal with symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and codependency. As a clinical psychologist, I assist my clients in meeting their goals and improving their relationships. Therapy is used to improve communication, coping skills and problem solving. One of my areas of expertise is in helping clients who are working through a particularly challenging time in their lives, and having difficulty moving forward from their experience. By encouraging self expression, increased insight and problem solving in therapy, I work collaboratively with clients to facilitate positive changes. Improving self esteem through greater understanding and acceptance of oneself is part of that work.

I work with students who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief or relational issues. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter. My goal is to empower you to heal and be comfortable being your truest self, while breaking free from harmful patterns and expanding your natural ability to experience inner joy, and achieve your fullest potential.
I believe in the power of genuine connection and shared humor in therapy. My goal is to collaborate with you to create a path toward not only a better understanding of yourself but also greater self-compassion. I approach therapy through a relational psychodynamic lens, meaning I view well-being as deeply connected to our relationships, past experiences and cultural identities. I also believe that everything you have done that has led you to this moment has been an attempt to take care of yourself, whether or not it has yielded the results you hoped for. I enjoy supporting clients as they explore, gain insights, and create a more authentic sense of self. My clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and the complexities of identity and multiculturalism. If you seek a collaborative partner to understand how your past shapes your present and how to intentionally write your future, I invite you to connect with me.
