I work with adults, college students, and young professionals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, or the effects of past traumas. I take a collaborative approach that may include medication management, lifestyle adjustments, or mindfulness-based practices. My goal is to help you feel understood and empowered as we work together to identify what is most effective for you. Our practice also offers a range of therapy and counseling services. When helpful, I’m glad to connect you with a skilled therapist so psychotherapy can be thoughtfully integrated into your care. Many people say that the college years are supposed to be some of the best in your life, yet it doesn't feel this way to you. Somehow you are missing out. Perhaps anxiety has you second guessing everything or your perfectionism or "OCD" has gotten out of hand. Perhaps you doubt yourself, put yourself down, or get the sense that everyone else has it all figured out except for you. Life doesn't have to be this way. I get it. I used to be a college professor and worked a lot with students transitioning to college and "adult life." I also know how hard things are when you are juggling college demands with the rest of "life," which may include a medical, family/friend, or work issue or just figuring out what you want to do with your life. Reaching out to ask for help is sign that you are aware something's not quite right in your life and you hope things can be better. Our time together is focused on helping you achieve your specific goals using treatments that are evidence-based. This means I only use the treatments that we know from research are helpful. I won't waste your time or money with treatments we know don't work. With any patient I work with, my goal is to eventually put myself out of a job. Sounds like a crazy business model, right? That is because my focus is on YOU and what you need. I want you to learn the skills that you need so you can graduate from therapy and live your best life.

There is nothing worse than feeling like you have become a disappointment to your family. That no matter how hard you try to navigate college, nothing you do will ever be good enough. Are you looking for a way to help your family understand YOUR struggles? To validate and support you, instead of saying, "it's just a phase, it will pass" or "Everyone has a hard time, you just need to try harder" or worse, "When I was your age I went through the same thing". I believe no one knows you better than you know yourself- even your family-and I want to help you express your needs in a way your family will hear, understand and be able to support you.

What is an Authentic Life Path? The question should really be What is YOUR Authentic Life Path? Often in the hustle and bustle of the “real world” we kind of just go with the flow and often lose ourselves. Sometimes it is scary to live our lives authentically. Living authentically means the person you feel you truly are on the inside. I started my career in the IT field, but realized I did not have a passion for it or enjoy it. I wanted to help others. I became a licensed marriage and family therapist, and am now living my authentic life path and want to help you find and live yours. I specialize in working with children, tweens, teens and adults who identify as transgender or genderqueer. I also specialize in the LGBTQIAA+ community. I work with all religions and spiritualities and all types of families no matter what the unique makeup. I provide a safe, supportive environment for you to explore yourself and grow into your most authentic self and find the path that is right for you. Give me a call or email if you have any questions.

Hey, I'm Shavonne! I'm a Licensed Clinical Therapist and I’m passionate about helping teens and young adults feel more secure in themselves and in their relationships. I help my clients acknowledge and feel confident in their desires and boundaries to gain a secure sense of self and build more mutually balanced, fulfilling relationships. I provide individualized therapy that focuses on helping you discover more about your internal experiences - your stories, narratives, motivations, strengths, and desires. Together, we will work to find your intuitive voice, build your internal sense of self-worth, push through the discomfort and resistance of change, and develop practices that alter the dynamics of your relationships, including the one you have with yourself. My role is to create a safe space for you to uncover your true desires in life and build the skills you need to work towards them. Therapy is an opportunity for us to create, discover, explore, and practice. I will hold the space for the full range of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions that encompass your humanness, and I ask that you show up as an active collaborator and participant in the change you want to see.

Hi! I'm Laura. I work with folks from all walks of life who are looking to build (or re-build) their connection to themselves and others. My clients tend to struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, self-worth, perfectionism, exploring their identities, attachment trauma, and relationship issues. I work within an intersectional perspective to cultivate a space that is inclusive and welcoming to all so my clients can feel safe to embrace vulnerability and explore themselves deeply. If you decide to work with me, we'll examine parts of your past, challenges in the present, and hopes for the future while honoring your intersecting identities and natural strengths. I'll hold space for you to cry, vent, make jokes, or swear — while helping you to deconstruct unhelpful patterns, dismantle perfectionism, set healthier boundaries, heal past wounds, and embrace your most authentic self. My approach is modern and eclectic, integrating EMDR, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and narrative techniques with psychodynamic, feminist, existential, and humanistic theories. This means I draw from multiple modalities to personalize your care based on your needs. Through both research-based techniques and being a real + approachable human, my goal is to help you find clarity and healing while creating meaningful and sustainable change.

Anxiety, stress and burnout are among the most common struggles people face, yet so many continue to carry them in silence. For those living with it, the pain is very real. It is waking up each morning already feeling trapped in your own thoughts, your body locked in a constant fight or flight state you cannot seem to shut off. It is lying down at night desperate for rest, only to wake up the next day still exhausted, as though no amount of effort ever brings true relief. If this feels familiar, know that you are not alone. These experiences are more than symptoms, they are part of the weight you have been carrying every single day. I help college students and young adults break free from the relentless grip of anxiety and stress by creating highly personalized, evidence-based programs that guide them toward clarity and control. In therapy, you will uncover what is happening in your body, understand why it occurs, and learn to use a range of effective tools so anxiety no longer controls your life. If you are ready to take charge of your anxiety and begin living life on your own terms, I encourage you to reach out for support. Therapy can be the turning point you’ve been searching for, offering tools to navigate stress, burnout, and overwhelming thoughts so you no longer have to face them alone or accept them as your reality.

Relational focus is the primary focus of my practice. The relationships we create with family, friends, lovers, technology, money, substances, education and especially self are all important when it comes to our personal happiness, contentment and purpose. It is time to talk when a perspective shift or increased understanding of your current situation or yourself is needed. If we learn to pay attention to what causes internal conflict or distress sooner the problems don't have to get increasingly larger. Learning to find your strengths and use them for the greater good is like leanring how to Human Well!

A Psychotherapy Practice specializing in the needs of gay men, bi-sexual men, and men/young men questioning their sexuality. As a gay identified Clinical Psychologist, I specialize in serving gay and bisexual men, and those in questioning their sexuality. For over 30 years I have been partnering with individuals, couples, and families facing mental health challenges, those exploring and discovering themself and their sexuality, those with disabilities and major health conditions, LGBTQ challenges and questions, and those facing significant mental health challenges. I work with patients throughout California through a unique combination of in-person and Telehealth. I find this a critical part of my work, therefore, I incorporate that modality with all those I am working with.
