e therapy is a journey to talk alongside you. Though I might be considered the "expert" in the areas in which you're looking for help, I also believe that you are the expert on you. I have a very collaborative and interpersonal style and though I use various empirically supported interventions to enhance with coping, the relationship between me and you is the most important thing. Change and growth are the goals of therapy. Change is a very subjective word, and it completely depends on where you are in your life when you come into therapy. I believe in working with the client together to form goals and a treatment plan, knowing that the plan will change along the way as the client experiences growth and change. Therapy is a proactive journey on the part of both client and therapist; sustainable and meaningful change stems from a combination of having a helpful guide, a sense of willingness, shared insight and working towards specific goals.

Hi I'm Malia. New to therapy? I've got you. My aim is to create an environment that fosters trust, empathy, and open communication, allowing clients to express themselves freely and work towards positive change. I work with clients who are going through life transitions. Life transitions are common and often support is helpful; whether that is a new relationship, big move, school or career path, or if you are experiencing new, unexpected emotions in your life. I understand that these moments can be both exhilarating and daunting, and I am committed to providing the necessary tools and support to navigate them confidently.

Taking that first step towards therapy can be daunting, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to seek support. Welcome—I’m glad you’re here. I believe that within each person lies the strength to overcome life’s challenges, and my role as your therapist is to walk alongside you as we tap into that potential together. My practice is trauma-informed and deeply person-centered, meaning your safety, comfort, and collaboration are at the forefront of our work. I’m here to help you not just cope but thrive—whether that means building resilience, fostering self-compassion, or navigating life’s complexities with more confidence. Taking that first step towards therapy can be daunting, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to seek support. Welcome—I’m glad you’re here. I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My eclectic approach allows me to tailor our work to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic techniques, and strength-based methods. I'm also EMDR-trained. I understand that reaching out can feel intimidating, but it’s a powerful act of self-care and empowerment. When you’re ready, I’m here to support you on this path of healing and growth. Let’s work together to help you move toward the life you envision.

I help stressed out and anxious people of any gender to heal trauma, make work suck less, and get good at relationships. I’m an Denver LGBT therapist providing EMDR therapy with a decade of experience. I’m terrible at pop culture and I love puns. My goal for my clients is to have a sustainable life where you can thrive. I want you to feel like you can navigate what life throws at you, even if it’s hard. I’m deeply invested in finding out what works for you (vs. anyone else). I’m less likely to promote something as “healthy” in therapy and more likely to ask you how it’s working for you. I won’t look at you sideways when you drop your partner’s pronouns or ask me to use a new name for you. We’ll curse, cry, and probably (hopefully) laugh. We’ll be human together.

Our treatment team focuses on healing the whole individual, instead of focusing on one specific area of a person’s life that may be problematic. We do this by working with clients to develop action plans for relapse prevention, beginning to heal trauma, learning skills for more successful coping with mental health challenges, eating healthier, getting more consistent exercise, and having fun in recovery.

I might be making a blanket statement here, but here's what I have observed over the years. People between the ages of 18 and 25(ish) are so *aware* of their inner landscape and have a completely different view of mental health and the pursuit of what makes them feel safe, seen, connected and useful. If you're seeking therapy right now, it might feel like everything, from all directions is not to your advantage and what an overwhelming feeling that must be. Systemic problems are rampant and stacked against so many, but especially those of you who are just starting out on your own in this world. I see you. I empathize with you. I'd really love to know your story and work with you in whatever capacity you need. I have a particular specialty in addictions and trauma, however I have experience with many different kinds of needs as I've spent significant time in community mental health and schools. Shoot me a message and tell me what you're looking for. If I don't seem like a good fit, I'm happy to help you find a therapist who might be better. I do accept some insurances so if you're on those plans, let me know. Be well!

Life can feel like a constant push toward the next achievement, leaving you stuck in self-doubt, uncertainty, or the pressure to have it all figured out. Maybe you're questioning your path, struggling with relationships, or trying to break free from old patterns that no longer serve you. If your inner critic won’t quiet down or you feel overwhelmed by anxiety and stress, you don’t have to navigate it alone. The experiences we carry from childhood shape how we navigate relationships, cope with challenges, and see ourselves. Past wounds can create patterns that feel hard to break, but change is possible. If you feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt, struggling to set boundaries, or weighed down by family expectations, therapy can support you in discovering your true self and creating healthier patterns. I offer a space to explore these challenges, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop a stronger connection to yourself. I specialize in a psychodynamic approach with an attachment lens, helping you unpack how past experiences influence your present. Using a trauma-informed and holistic framework, I address the whole person—mind, body, and emotions. I also can incorporate brainspotting, a nontraditional but powerful tool that helps process trauma and emotional distress beyond talk therapy. Additionally, I support those adjusting to life with cancer or chronic illness, helping you navigate the emotional weight of a diagnosis, changes in identity, and the uncertainty that comes with it. My style is warm, approachable, and real. Therapy should be a place where you feel safe to be yourself—whether you’re laughing, crying, or just figuring things out. Let’s work together to build confidence, clarity, and a life that feels more like yours.

We all want to be loved and experience pleasure, but getting there can be difficult in the culture of perfectionism we live in. This perfectionism shows up everywhere and results in thinking you need to look like a model in order to get a partner, trying to be good at everything, and goal-oriented sex that is more focused on performance than pleasure. Instead of feeling sexy, people feel stressed, lonely, inadequate, and guilty. I work with people who want to feel confident and sexy, have a healthy relationship/s with someone/s who is there for them, be able to communicate clearly, stand up for themselves, and have mind-blowing sex. I’ve worked in sexuality for 10 years, helping college students whose sex life is struggling. I help people of all genders & sexualities have less fear & anxiety, more confidence, stronger relationships, and better sex. My clients get good at connecting with themselves & their partners, moving past toxic patterns, & having open conversations. You’re not broken, even if it feels like it. I know what it’s like to feel lost when it comes to sex and relationships, not have healthy role models, feel like you have to figure it all out yourself, be judged unfairly, and be so focused on performance and being perfect that you miss out on pleasure. But all that can change. You deserve love--and hot sex.
