Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
Challenges are essential to growth. We all face challenges. The various challenges, crises, traumas we all inevitably encounter can create anxiety, depression, and disconnection. Unfortunately, labels and diagnoses can stop you from seeing that you are okay. As you are. Your felt experiences of hurt, when processed deeply, actually lead to self-discovery. Seeking help doesn’t mean that anything is necessarily wrong. In fact, expertise can guide you through these moments safely. Through somatic healing therapy, individuals and couples will find inner strength to start anew. I am a somatic therapist who counsels individuals and couples to honor who they truly are. Together, we explore new ways to cope with conflicts, and the challenges presented in day-to-day life. Bring all of yourself to therapy. You’ll create better relationships with yourself and others as a result. So, get comfortable. Let’s find what brings you joy and helps you feel fulfilled. Break through. Ultimately, this process is about loving and becoming more of yourself.
I'm an experienced trauma and grief therapist, counseling students, faculty and staff facing very painful situations and emotions. People come in with post traumatic stress, de-motivation, relationships falling apart, trouble with dysfunctional families/groups, depression, anxiety, grief, losses, disaster, a diagnosis. What about you? What brings you to reach for support? Are you devastated, angry, sad, betrayed? Do you feel trapped, helpless, shamed, confused, sick? Are you overwhelmed, super stressed, panicking, self-harming, isolating, grieving? Has someone close to you committed suicide? Has a natural disaster taken your world as you knew it? Do you feel lost while others seem to know what they're doing, where they're going? Are you abusing substances? Carrying others' burdens? My care is shaped by your needs, not based on an institutional protocol. We'll start where you are.

We also offer support with substance abuse. In addition, we help students move towards empowering the identities and values most important to you, building enriching relationships, and thriving in your chosen passions. Lastly, we offer individual counseling and high performance psychology, group counseling, and psychological testing services, and enjoy working with students across the neurodevelopmental spectrum.

At Whole Connection we take Medicaid and work on a sliding scale. We provide high quality, accessible psychotherapy to Boulder County. Our team is made up of skilled therapists who provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy. In addition to outpatient therapy we offer a Trauma Recovery and Care program. Our Trauma Recovery and Care program is designed for individuals who are struggling to take control of their lives because they feel dictated by feelings that are deeply connected to their past. If you have been diagnosed with PTSD or you suspect that PTSD is underlying your current symptoms, this could be for you. We believe that all people should have access to Therapy, by clinicians and interns who are continually trained and educated and who are also taken care of (not overworked). In doing so we try and meet the needs of those of the community who come to see us by either sliding our fees or accepting medicaid insurance. Lastly we aim to provide free and affordable trainings for the larger community and clinicians to continue to learn and grow. We also take Victim's Compensation.

As well as the possibility of long term change. I have been working in the field of psychotherapy for 15 years. You've been feeling anxious, depressed, maybe your relationships are struggling. Feeling overwhelmed, like you are not in control of your life can get in the way of your job, school, your confidence and your ability to be present in daily life. You might be thinking, "nobody knows what I'm going through" or have thoughts telling you that “you are just not good enough.” Healing is possible. Get the help that you need to move on from the difficult things that have happened to you. It is my number one goal to support you and help you experience a sense of safety and stability. You will learn coping mechanisms and ways of managing the overwhelming feelings and emotions. I use EMDR and sensorimotor psychotherapy, which just means working with the body. I believe our bodies can help us in the process of healing. EMDR is very effective for depression, anxiety, PTSD and much more.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client, and that by working together we can help you move toward understanding and healing. Your job is to be curious about yourself. Mine is to inspire and assist you in exploring the unknown, uncomfortable, and unfamiliar. I strive to kindly challenge the way people think, and to be challenged myself. I am honored when asked to be present in challenging times, and work to balance holding room for discomfort while helping you discover how to move forward. My ultimate goal is to help you heal by building upon our respect, honesty, and mindfulness. I approach counseling from an experiential and existential perspective, and integrate attachment, feminist, and narrative therapies. My training includes EFT, Gestalt, MI, and DBT. I love counseling young adults, and have worked in school settings for 15 years. I also greatly enjoy working with couples. I'm active in LGBTQIA+ and polyamorous communities. I find joy in helping clients explore and heal, no matter what journey you find yourself on! I look forward to connecting with you. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, older adults, couples, relationship issues, life transitions, multicultural concerns, members of LGBTQIA+ communities, and polyamorous individuals, couples, and families.

I’m here to support clients as they find their way to more vitality, joy, balance, meaningfulness, sense of belonging, and resilience. I view therapy as a space where these qualities can be brought to life, with gentleness and understanding. Rumi says, “As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”
Change is hard, and getting to know yourself is a process! Some of my clients are neurodivergent, and want support in adjusting to new surroundings and building new skills. I also work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and with other mental health concerns. My background is in somatic, movement-based counseling. In sessions, we might spend time learning more about what your body is telling you, and working with it to find balance and relief. Sessions can also look like talking about life, using expressive art to explore your emotions, or practicing mindfulness skills.

I work best with individuals who are interested in exploring their inner world. Those who benefit most from this work are often seeking to better understand their struggles and find renewed energy and meaning through the process. I work with you to explore and address the issues behind your emotional distress. Together, we will bring awareness to the ways you manage fear, pain, and anger. This exploration will contact the experiences you often avoid, including doubt and vulnerability. When you can experience yourself more fully, you reclaim lost parts of your self. Ultimately, this is a path to building trust in yourself and others. It is deeply rewarding—turning suffering into self-understanding and engagement with life.

Are you looking for someone to listen and hold space for your experiences, a gentle guide on your journey to understanding yourself more deeply? I believe in a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy. I empower clients to understand what is going on in their minds and bodies, and to find their inner wisdom. I am here to offer another perspective, and to help you make connections that you might not otherwise see.
