Therapists for college students near Atlanta, GA
Everyone can benefit from therapy regardless of how big or small a problem feels: both sprained and broken ankles can benefit from crutches! Whether you have faced a life-altering event, or have worries about the future, I will guide and support you along the journey. Taking the first steps to begin therapy can be intimidating, but is an important move to make to become your best self. My approach balances the emotional processing necessary to generate insights with the practical components of skill building to truly give you all the benefits therapy can provide. I use a flexible integrative model to generate individualized treatment since no two people or problems are the same. I believe therapy is most effective when we collaborate to improve your quality of life. I'm excited to begin the process of achieving your personal goals! Currently supervised by Tara Towler-Cumby, MA, LPC, CPCS.

Therapy is a journey into yourself. It is choosing to step forward into growth rather than shy back into what is safe and comfortable. When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. This process of self-discovery isn’t easy, but certainly worth it! My approach to counseling is that of being direct, honest, and straightforward. I work hard to balance that with care, compassion, and empathy. I will push you, but not past your limits. At times it may feel as if I am pushing you past your limits but that is because often times we aren’t able to see our true potential.
College can be difficult and lonely. My goal as your therapist would be to help you explore yourself, your hurts, and your relationships to bring about healthier functioning in your life. I strive to create an environment where you feel supported and heard so that you can experience healing and growth. I want to be a person in your life that you feel safe with and cared for by. I use Emotionally-Focused therapy to aid you in processing through what you are struggling with so that you can achieve your goals and thrive while you are in college and beyond. Please contact me if you think that we would be a good fit! #APC010625, Georgia

We are Living Fully Psychological Services, but affectionately call ourselves Living Fully Therapy. Dr. Pegah Moghaddam is the owner and founder of Living Fully. We provide therapy online and in-person at an office located in Atlanta, Georgia, within walking distance of Emory University. Our psychologists and therapists specialize in therapy for trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, eating disorders, and sleep. With life experience comes pain, loss, and suffering. Healing, growth, and change are a result of processing these painful experiences in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. At Living Fully Therapy, we provide unique therapeutic services. Our goal is to learn about and understand your unique history and life path with openness, compassion, acceptance, and patience. We will teach you to do the same for yourself, as these factors are necessary to the process of change and ultimately to live fully. From there, we will determine where you'd like to go and the most effective process to achieving your goals. We are honored to facilitate your journey toward living fully. Please note that we are an out-of-network, non-preferred provider with Aetna student health insurance for Emory students. If you are enrolled in the Emory University Student Health Insurance Plan (EUSHIP), you will need a referral from Emory Student Health Services to Living Fully before starting sessions. You will need one referral per academic year (which begins each August 1). The 2023-2024 EUSHIP has a $750 deductible for non-preferred providers, which you will typically meet within your first 5-6 sessions at Living Fully. After your deductible is met, you will pay approximately $85 per session.

My therapy services cater to individuals ranging from 7 years old to adulthood, providing individual, parent, and family therapy. Hello, I’m so glad you’re here! I'm passionate about guiding individuals on their journey towards healing and self-discovery. As an art therapist, I believe in the transformative power of creativity to help people of any age express themselves and navigate life's complexities. You don’t need to consider yourself to be an artist to find benefit in creative healing. I will work with you to introduce artmaking that meets your unique needs. Alongside art therapy, I also offer traditional talk therapy, providing a holistic approach to mental and emotional well-being that can be best catered to your specific therapeutic needs. In my practice, I prioritize a person-centered, existential, and strengths-based approach, recognizing that each person is the expert of their own experiences. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, understanding that therapy knows no age limit. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and concerns at their own pace. As a LAPC and ATR-P I am currently under the supervision and direction of Nancy Morales, LPC, ATR-BC, CPCS and AICC Clinical Director, Christi Bartolomucci, PhD, LPC, CPCS. My areas of specialty include ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, chronic illness, grief, loss, behavioral issues, personal growth, relationships, social skills, life transitions and navigating life changes, such as impacts of divorce or career shifts. Additionally, I specialize in identity work, helping clients explore and embrace their authentic selves. As a queer-affirming therapist, I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where LGBTQIA+ individuals feel accepted and valued. I celebrate the diversity of human experience and aim to provide affirming care to all clients. Above all, my goal is to empower clients to lead fulfilling lives and embrace their true selves. With kindness, warmth, and genuine care, I am here to support you on your journey towards healing and growth.
We all need spaces where we can show up as our full, authentic selves—messy, complex, and human. Therapy can be that space: a place where we can slow down together, reflect, and explore what healing and growth might look like for you. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and relationship challenges. My approach is deeply relational—grounded in empathy, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique story. In our work together, we'll explore what’s been holding you back and what’s helped you get through, always focusing on what feels most meaningful and supportive for you. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, DBT, relational, somatic, and psychodynamic techniques, and I tailor our work to what best supports you. Healing happens in connection, and in our work together, I’ll meet you with care, curiosity, and a focus on what might be possible as we explore a path toward more ease, trust, and connection in your life. If you're curious about starting therapy, please reach out. I’d love to connect and explore what healing and growth could look like for you!

If you are LGBTQ+, polyamorous, kinky, or exploring your identity, it can be exhausting to live in a world that barely tolerates, much less affirms, every part of you. If you feel like you are drowning under the pressure of today’s demands, how are you supposed to find the energy to work on your goals, learn who you are, or take time to enjoy life? You may currently feel alone, unloved, or like you don’t deserve happiness. You might find yourself numb and in emotional pain, wishing people could see and understand your real self. You’re ready to get help, and you want a therapist that specializes in clients like you. My services are also sex-positive, weight-inclusive, neurodiverse-friendly, and culturally-affirming. I offer both in-person and online sessions for your convenience and accessibility. Clients that work with me appreciate positive, gentle masculinity paired with the occasional dad joke. I work collaboratively with clients to foster emotional wellbeing and personal growth. With experience in both therapeutic and educational settings, I work with students, families, and adults to create a safe, supportive environment where they can thrive. I am also a Certified School Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who provides both individual and group counseling services. Whether in therapy or school counseling, my goal is to empower clients to navigate their unique journeys with confidence!
I provide individual therapy to young adults and adults experiencing a range of concerns including substance use, trauma, life transitions, and the unique stressors men face. I approach counseling from the perspective that you already have strengths and abilities that you can use to become your strongest self. Together, we find those strengths and put them to work towards your goals. As part of this I often use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, a technique that looks at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It’s been shown to be incredibly effective at helping people make lasting changes in their lives. I am a Master Addiction Counselor and trained in E.M.D.R., a technique shown to be effective in treating trauma. It is also common that you may not have your finger on exactly what you hope to work on, yet you know you are seeking growth and change. If that’s the case, therapy can be a powerful tool to help you clarify what you want and how to best get it. If you are interested in learning more about how working together can help you reach your goals, contact me for a free consultation. Consultations are done by phone, take about 15 minutes and give us a chance to see if we would be a good fit to work together.
In the words of Susan David, “discomfort is the admission price to a full life.” This profound truth guides my approach to therapy. Growth often begins in those challenging moments when we face what feels difficult—yet it’s precisely these moments that open doors to our most authentic and fulfilling lives. I like to view counseling as a process of returning home to yourself. Between the pressure of living in today’s world, traumatic experiences, and wounds we experience along the way, we can get disconnected from our values, wisdom, inner strength, and creative spirit. The good news is we get to make this journey together. I am committed to sitting with you with warmth and a calming presence as we walk through the counseling process together. Guided by both relational and somatic approaches such as Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory, we will address your concerns through a holistic lens encompassing mind, body, and spirit.
