My name is Dadiana Lopez. I am a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NY and CT, and I am here to tell you that you don’t have to suffer through life constantly overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, and depressed. I specialize in helping people who feel stuck in a cycle of exhaustion or overwhelm learn to break this cycle, find relief, feel more confident, and finally leave behind people-pleasing behaviors, perfectionism, and dysfunctional family patterns. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD or a constant sense of unworthiness, I can help you too! My approach to therapy is evidence-based, trauma-informed and holistic. I integrate traditional science-backed psychotherapy with somatic modalities, nervous system regulation tools, and mind-body-spirit practices, to uncover and treat the root cause of struggles, not just your symptoms. I want to help you challenge unhelpful beliefs about yourself, build upon your strengths, and work toward healing, authenticity, and the life you want to live. If you're tired of living in survival mode and are ready to heal, reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consult with me today! I am in-network with Optum/United Healthcare and Aetna plans. I also work with Mentaya to help my out-of-network clients get partial reimbursement for my services. If you'd like for me to check your out-of-network benefits, schedule a consult today!

I come with passions for working with the neurodivergent population (specifically with ADHD and Autism and unpacking a late realization), providing gender-affirming care, sex-positive counseling, disordered eating, and body image, managing and processing chronic illness, and identity work through a trauma-informed and all-inclusive perspective. As a queer, neurodiverse counselor, my experience has offered me perspectives from within the community and has given me a passion for advocacy, connection, and collaboration. While I come with passion in these areas, my work goes beyond these areas. I believe that every individual and their needs deserve space in the therapeutic setting and it is my goal to create a space.

To be seen and known by others is an incredible feeling of connection but it means being authentic and vulnerable. Sadly, we live in a time with the illusion of connection while being more disconnected than ever. You may feel disconnected from others and even from yourself. Though you are a gift to this world, it is often blocked and unexpressed. This may leave you feeling alone and invisible. The truth is, you may be starving for deeper connection and that starvation looks like depression, anxiety, stress, and more. When you are living disconnected, you are abandoning yourself. Thankfully, you have a beautiful inner voice. I help you redefine your view of barriers (I call it protection), frustration around recurring struggles, failures, shame+fears through a lens of compassion, curiosity, and courage. My working style is non-judgmental, and I endeavor to bring curiosity, humor, empathy, patience, and respect to our relationship. I warmly invite you to reach out by phone or email through my website and schedule a free initial consultation to explore how we might work together to help you live a life of purpose and connection with self and others

An important part of successful therapy is feeling connected with your therapist. I'll first work with you on building that connection by listening and trying to understanding your feelings and experiences. We will also work collaboratively to understand patterns in your relationships and past experiences that help shape your current situation and behaviors. Coming to a better understanding of yourself, your feelings and behaviors is the first order of change. I also specialize in working with children, adolescents and families. With a Master's in School Psychology, I collaborate well with school professionals to support your child more comprehensively. I also provide parenting support to address challenging behaviors at home. I make sure the therapeutic process is collaborative. My first experience with therapy, was as the client. After surviving a traumatic event, I sought help from a therapist. Therapy proved so helpful, it was then, that my passion grew. While most of my experience has been in private practice providing individual therapy, I have worked in a county mental health clinic, an inpatient psychiatric setting and a residential group home. At the core of distress, we may find some form of unresolved shame, guilt, trauma, abuse or loss. I am here to provide "a safe place" to process those hurts, while helping you increase self-awareness and gain skills to lead a more fulfilling life. As we get to know one another, we will create your goals together. While some people who seek therapy already know what they hope to accomplish, others are completely unsure. Again, there is no right or wrong way to approach therapy. During intake, I will ask you directly what you want and hope for out of therapy. How will you know you are feeling better? Unlike other relationships in our lives, the therapeutic relationship is objective. While our friends and family may do the best they can to help us, they may already have biases regarding how you should live your life. A key component then, is realizing that you will not disappoint me or be judged. I am here to help you be the best version of yourself.

Many of the people I work with are Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) who are struggling to navigate multiple areas of their life like work, school, family, relationships, or the intersectionalities of their identities. Many talk about often feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck. This then kicks off to what feels like a never ending cycle of confusion, frustration, depression, and anxiety. Therapy is an opportunity to find clarity and work through these obstacles to help people get their life back on track. My clients and I work together to develop more mindful behaviors to help lead a more meaningful and healthy life. People develop certain attitudes and perspectives based on their early life experiences to survive when they were younger. But these attitudes and perspectives are not helping now which is part of the reason why people might feel stuck. By looking at these attitudes and perspectives closely, people can learn to change how they talk to themselves, how they react to their emotions. and take more thoughtful actions to move forward towards a more authentic and fulfilling life. My practice integrates several evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) that encompasses principles of person-centered, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, multiculturalism, and strength-based values. With my compassionate, collaborative, non-judgmental, and down-to-earth style, therapy can address the things that are getting in the way of people’s life so that they can move forward. COMMON EXPERIENCES THAT I WORK WITH PEOPLE ON: - It feels like your mind is playing tricks on you - It feels like your eyes or ears are playing tricks on you - It feels like something odd is going on or hard to explain - Confused at times whether something is real or imaginary - You feel suspicious or mistrustful of others - It feels like you have little control over your thoughts - It feels like others can hear your thoughts or read your mind - Having thoughts or beliefs that you or others find strange - Race-related identity, culture, and intersectionality - Cultural and systemic trauma and oppression

Pre-Licensed Professional
Syracuse, NY

Rebecca is a counseling intern who is passionate about creating a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their stories and identities. As an Asian American woman and adoptee, she understands how deeply identity, belonging, and cultural context shape people’s lives. Her own journey has given her both compassion and insight into the challenges of navigating transitions, healing from loss, and building a strong sense of self. These experiences guide the way she shows up as a therapist, with openness, authenticity, and respect for each individual’s unique story. She is particularly committed to working with clients exploring identity, cultural-related experiences, or significant life transitions. She also supports Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals, holding space for the layered experiences of culture, family, and generational dynamics. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable being fully themselves, open, honest, and truly seen. Rebecca’s approach is compassionate and client-centered, drawing from person-centered, narrative, and mindfulness-based practices, as well as elements of cognitive behavioral therapy and multicultural frameworks. She believes therapy is not about “fixing” someone, but about helping clients reconnect with their voice, values, and inner resources. Together, she works with clients to explore what matters most and foster a deeper sense of clarity, confidence, and connection. You can self-schedule a free consultation at ccservices.janeapp.com.
