The fact that you are here, tells me that you want to work on yourself. You want to see your truth, become stronger, and earn the ability to become self-reliant. Congratulations on taking these steps. You are one step closer to beginning your journey. I have been in the helping profession since 1987. My objective is to help people create positive changes in their lives. I provide a relaxed atmosphere, use modern clinical concepts, and work collaboratively with each individual, couple, or group. I encourage my clients to hone in on their strengths for their personal growth and transformation in order to bring in more love and satisfaction into their lives. My integrative and wholesome approach: I am also a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT), Certified Fitness Instructor, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and a PAIRS-certified instructor (helping couples who are struggling with their relationships). With all of that, we would be working collaboratively using a wholesome approach. What this mean is, I integrate many of the well-known evidenced based practice modalities and theories, EMDR, as well as wellness and yoga principles (e.g. breathing, mindfulness, focus attention, awareness, etc.) within the framework of integrative social work and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

I have worked for over ten years as a Licensed Clinical Social worker providing therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to help gain insight into yourself and your relationships and to empower you toward a healthier mindset. Therapy provides an opportunity to process your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to become more open and adaptable to change.
Life is so often filled with stressors, unexpected obstacles, and struggles. We believe that everyone has the power to make great things happen and to grow, heal, and thrive. We are dedicated to providing a caring, nonjudgmental space where you can feel open to sharing vulnerabilities and telling your unique stories. Our therapists seek to help you recognize and build upon your strengths and resiliency to make the changes that matter most to you, to heal from past hurts, and to create greater happiness and fulfillment. We know that change often feels deeply overwhelming and scary, so having someone truly and consistently there for you can make the world of a difference. We meet every client– individuals, couples, and families– where they are, with genuine respect and compassion. Everyone can benefit from support and guidance, and for us, therapy is most effective when grounded in understanding, authenticity, and collaboration that enhance motivation. Our clients come to us with a wide variety of challenges and struggles, past and present. Issues in one area of life inherently and inevitably trickle into others. Together we will seek to more deeply understand the problem and its roots so that feeling of being stuck dissipates and you feel empowered and inspired. We work from a strengths-based, humanistic, holistic lens and incorporate different approaches to support your unique needs and aspirations. Our therapists incorporate individualized treatment approaches including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, relational, as well as trauma-focused, strengths, and attachment-based therapies. TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. We utilize therapies like ERP, ACT, and CBT to provide the most effective tools for managing symptoms and achieving personal growth. We have particular expertise in treating OCD, anxiety, BFRBs, perfectionism, trauma, and eating disorders. Our experienced CBT therapists provide a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their challenges and develop resilience. We offer both individual and group therapy sessions tailored to adults, young adults, and adolescents aged 12 and up, designed to be accessible in person or through online therapy for clients across New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, and Connecticut.
My work is primarily catered toward issues such as acute stress, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges involving mood and anxiety. While I welcome individuals of all backgrounds, I am particularly invested in working with clients with marginalized identities, acting as a welcoming ally to queer and trans identified individuals and people of color. As a therapist, I have close to a decade of experience working with a range of at-risk populations in a number of professional settings. Many of my clients arrive feeling like they move from one stressor to the next. Getting out of bed is difficult, creativity and passion fade, and scrolling on a screen replaces human contact. My practice aims at helping individuals uncover, clarify, and address substantial barriers which block pleasure and satisfaction. The work I do involves a deep exploration of historical, interpersonal, and emotional factors in conjunction with the development of practical skills aimed at fostering wellness.
The transition to college is both exciting and challenging for families and students and I support students as they adjust to new routines. I work with students to develop strategies for connecting and forming positive relationships, and build tools for engaging with faculty and supportive campus resources. Examples of services provided: Identifying needs and understanding feelings Developing positive relationships and healthy boundaries Balancing academics, extracurricular activities, and the rest of life Building self-esteem and a sense of identity Coping with perfectionism and impostor phenomenon

We work in the evolving tradition of contemporary psychoanalysis, with a relational focus and deep respect for the soci-cultural and political complexities we face as individuals and collectively. We respect the deep nature of many emotional issues and their interpersonal origin in real life, often traumatic, developmental experiences. We seek to understand your unique developmental needs and how they may have been neglected, hijacked or violated by important figures in your life, as well as social institutions on whom you relied. Therapy - whether individual, couples' or group - is a process of understanding, healing and growing beyond these deep wounds and over-accommodations, freeing you for the emergence of a life that is more authentically your own. Therapy is best done through an open, intimate relationship with a professional dedicated to understanding your unique pain, who recognizes your needs for safety and emotional validation, and creates the space for the emergence of greater self-expression, agency and growth, allowing you to be more fully engaged and alive to yourself and to others. More in control of shaping your identity and destiny. As a group of clinicians we are deeply familiar with the struggles of launching oneself into adulthood. I am a clinical psychologist working with emerging adults and couples, specializing in issues around gender and sexuality as well as creativity and artistic identity. In practice, I believe in the utility of a strong working alliance, and strive to make you feel both understood and empowered throughout the evolution of treatment. While psychodynamic in orientation, I view my practice as integrative. Looking at patterns present in affect, behavior, and cognition, as well as through interpersonal experience, I endeavor to meet each patient where they are. I have extensive experience in couples and group therapy, particularly with non-monogamous and queer-identified populations. My clinical approach is informed by Emotion Focused Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. At the same time, developmental history and early attachment patterns remain fundamental to my understanding of people. I view it as an immense privilege, coupled with high responsibility, to be entrusted with someone’s vulnerability. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at CUNY City College. I also hold a Masters in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, where I subsequently served as a therapist in residence. I was formerly a violinist in the NYC-based quartet, ETHEL. My musical background and capacity for self-observation continue to inform my practice as a therapist. It is my experience that therapy provides a valuable stage, one on which you and I can imagine a different repertoire of human experience together.
