Many people start thinking about therapy because, emotionally, they don’t feel good. Maybe your emotions end up taking you for a ride and you feel helpless to stop it. Emotions come and go, but they can sometimes feel endless, especially if they are intense. Or maybe you are struggling to get in touch with your emotions and you find it difficult to connect. Either way, what ends up making it worse is the power struggle we get into with our own emotions. We want to push away the ones that feel bad and force the ones that feel good, but that never works for long. Wouldn’t it be easier to avoid the power struggle completely?

I believe therapy is a space for growth and change that can lead to stronger relationships, healthier ways of functioning, and a deeper sense of well-being. In our work together, I’ll bring empathy, respect, and genuine care. My role is to support you in becoming more self-aware and confident, while helping you make the changes you want to see in your life. To me, therapy is a collaborative process. I’m not here to "fix" you, but to walk alongside you as a guide, a support, and sometimes just a steady presence while you navigate life’s challenges. I truly believe that everyone has the ability to grow and the responsibility to pursue that growth when they’re ready. I also believe our relationships with family, partners, friends, or chosen community play a huge role in our overall well-being. When those connections feel off or strained, it can affect so many other areas of life. Whether we're working one-on-one, with a couple, or with a family, I take a systemic approach to understand the bigger picture and help shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck. And I know that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find what feels right for you. Most importantly, I’ll offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard. We take most major insurance plans and offer low fees for self-pay clients. Are you feeling as if it’s difficult to enjoy life to the fullest? Perhaps it’s hard to relax and have fun, or the pressures of work or school leave little room for anything else. You may have realized the expectations you set for yourself are unrealistic, that you compare your negatives with others’ positives and over commit or overwhelm yourself, leading to burnout. You might have difficulty making decisions, or have a hard time figuring out the ‘rules’ of life. Drawing boundaries, especially when doing so feels scary, might be a challenge, leading you to give into people that guilt or intimidate you. Perhaps you place the needs of others before your own, and are left feeling resentful when your own aren’t met, or perhaps you take out frustration on the ones you love. You are not alone. My passion is helping clients as they work to better understand themselves, their personal and family histories, and the world around them. I work with adults and adolescents to reduce and manage symptoms of depression and anxiety, process grief and trauma, improve relationships, and change behavioral patterns such as procrastination or perfectionism. I am a believer in therapy to alleviate distress but also as a regular part of wellness and recognize the importance the connection between our minds and bodies. I understand the dynamics that affect adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families and survivors of child abuse and neglect. I enjoy working with adults from such backgrounds as they take a look back, build a more complete picture of their life story, and often find solace in knowing that they aren’t alone. My first career was in public-school education, and I've worked extensively with high school and college students. I have witnessed the stress that students are often under just trying to stay afloat. Working as a motivational speaker and speech and debate coach has allowed me to follow a passion for helping others find their voice. I have experience in coaching teens and adults to use words and ideas to change themselves and the world around them.

Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker who practiced in a college counseling setting for over 4 years and I have 15 years of counseling experience total. I continue to work with college students in my private practice and I enjoy working with people to better manage anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, grief, life transitions, relationship, concerns, and general stress. My practice is body positive and LGBTQ+, immigrant, and international student supportive and affirming. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for processing fears, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I use various types of therapy, including ACT, CBT, DBT skills, somatic therapy, schema therapy, ERPT, narrative therapy, and person centered therapy, but I tailor sessions to what works best for you. I also welcome your feedback in the process. I strongly encourage coming to therapy in the way that you are most comfortable - meaning, swear if you feel the need, don't apologize for eating in sessions if you are hungry, show up in your pajamas - whatever. As long as you are safe and comfortable and you are able to talk privately, I support it. I offer a free 15 minute consultation call to see if we are a good fit, because having a therapist you trust and match with is paramount. I offer virtual telehealth sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I offer in person sessions in Kingwood, Texas on Wednesdays. Please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to connect and I wish you the best in your therapist search!

Life is filled with questions that don’t always have clear answers—therapy with me offers a space to examine these questions and make sense of them in a way that resonates with you. While I have a particular interest in supporting men, emerging adults, and second-generation individuals, I welcome the opportunity to work with anyone looking for support. I invite you to bring what you're experiencing so we can process it together. I view therapy as a collaborative conversation. I offer a warm, laid-back presence, facilitating space for you to be yourself. With an existential approach, we'll explore deeper questions along with day-to-day challenges. The relationship we build is central to the process and my goal is for you to feel supported and valued every step of the way.

College can be one of the most exciting seasons of life — but also one of the most overwhelming. Between academic pressure, anxiety, relationships, family expectations, burnout, and trying to “have it all together,” many students silently struggle while appearing fine on the outside. I provide a supportive, judgment-free space where college students can pause, breathe, and focus on their mental wellness without pressure or shame. My approach is warm, relatable, and collaborative, helping students build healthy coping skills, improve self-confidence, manage stress, and navigate life transitions with clarity and balance. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem challenges, or simply feeling emotionally exhausted, you don’t have to carry it alone. Therapy can be a place where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to thrive both personally and academically.

College can be exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. It’s a time of big changes, big questions, and a lot of pressure—about who you are, where you belong, and whether you’re doing “enough.” I work with college students who are navigating anxiety, body image struggles, perfectionism, and that nagging feeling of not measuring up, even when everything seems fine on the outside. If you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or just off, therapy can be a space to slow down and figure out what’s really going on. Together, we’ll explore what matters to you and what helps you feel more like you. My approach is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth. Whether you’re on campus or away, we’ll work together to help you feel more confident, grounded, and connected—both to yourself and the life you’re building.

Hello! I’m Stephanie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to supporting adults as they navigate the complexities of mental health, trauma, and significant life changes. My journey in this field has been defined by a deep-seated belief in the resilience of the human spirit and a commitment to providing a nonjudgmental, empowering space where healing can truly begin. My Background and Expertise Background and Expertise My clinical foundation was built in the fast-paced, high-acuity environment of inpatient psychiatric hospitals across both the rural Amarillo region and the Austin Metroplex. Serving as a therapist, case manager, and court liaison, I have worked with patients facing some of life’s most challenging moments—from acute crisis intervention and short-term substance detox to the long-term management of chronic mood and psychotic disorders. This extensive background means that I am comfortable sitting with you through just about anything. Whether you are dealing with a recent crisis, navigating the heavy fog of grief and loss, or managing a chronic mental health condition that requires careful coordination and advocacy, I bring a wealth of systemic knowledge and clinical skill to our sessions. I understand the "social systems" of Texas and the unique obstacles our residents face, and I use that insight to help you navigate your own path to stability. My Therapeutic Approach I describe my style as eclectic, solution-focused, and deeply client-centered. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all "fix." Instead, I view therapy as a collaborative partnership. We will work together to identify your specific priorities and the barriers standing in your way. My approach is grounded in: Empowerment: I operate from a strengths-based perspective, helping you rediscover your internal resources. Holistic Wellness: I believe in looking at the whole person—your environment, your history, and your goals. Evidence-Based Skills: I integrate tools from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT to provide you with practical strategies for daily life. What to Expect In our work together, you can expect directness tempered with deep empathy. I am a firm believer in "reality testing" and stabilization, helping you find a "new normal" that preserves your sense of self while improving your social functioning and personal satisfaction. Whether you need a space to process a specific traumatic event, a partner to help you set and reach life goals, or simply a confidential place to vent and debrief after a period of burnout, I am here to support you. Start Your Journey I know that seeking mental health care is a significant investment of your time, emotions, and resources. To ensure we are the right match, I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation. This is a pressure-free time for us to meet, discuss your expectations, and determine if my skill set aligns with your needs. My goal is to empower you to create a plan of action that leads exactly where you want to be. I look forward to meeting you and helping you build the resilience needed to move forward.
