When OCD is part of the picture, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help you build distress tolerance and find relief from the cycle of obsessions and compulsions. This blend of insight-oriented exploration and evidence-based tools is designed to support change that lasts. A desire to help others has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember. As I moved into young adulthood, that impulse deepened into genuine fascination with the science and philosophy of the mind. Social psychology captivated me, particularly the landmark experiments of Stanley Milgram, and I found myself drawn to the rich landscape of therapeutic orientations, from psychoanalytic frameworks and humanistic psychology to attachment theory and beyond. That curiosity translated into action through internships and professional experiences that shaped me as a clinician. I gained hands-on skills working with adolescents and adults within the child welfare system and in crisis intervention settings. Providing care to patients across a broad range of cultural backgrounds has profoundly enriched my perspective and deepened my commitment to meeting each person with the attentiveness and respect they deserve. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me at the gym, training in Muay Thai, or exploring a new restaurant. I also have a longtime love of voice acting and rarely miss a chance to catch a new film. These passions keep me energized and present in my own life, which I believe makes me a better, more grounded presence for you in ours.

The most significant onset for mental health issues are 18 and onward. This places many college student in a place where they may feel isolated, alone and have no idea what is" wrong" with them. My practice not only focuses on mental health issues but also on substance use, the "hook up" culture, adjustment to college life and many more pertinent struggles young people face today . I did not just gain my experience as a therapist listening to a client on a couch. Much of my work was community based , in very high need neighborhoods in the NYC area. From working in homeless shelters, foster care, and substance use programs, the experience gained was invaluable . Therapy is a collaboration between therapist and client. My goal is to understand where you are at this moment in your life, help you to identify your goals and work with you, as a partner, to attain them. My approach to individual therapy is short term and goal oriented. Many young adults feel alone in these experiences, with the idea that everyone else seems to “have it all together.” Transitions such as graduating high school, starting college, starting your first job, experiencing your first relationship, and working towards being financially independent are all exciting moments in time, but they can also bring stress and uncertainty. College students might be thrown by how much harder academic life is than in high school, no longer having the structure and accountability provided by teachers or parents. Making friends in a new setting may also be harder than you expected, leading to feelings of failure. Especially since having a social life with peers can feel even more important when you’re far from home. Coming home from college for the summer or winter break, many people are thrown by the fact that their friends have grown and evolved in ways that may be different than them, making friendships feel different. If things aren’t working out as you expected, you may start to feel down or depressed, or a sense of isolation and loneliness. That’s where we enter in. We’d love to help you feel a little less alone in this phase of life and to start working through the challenges you’ve been dealing with. At Elevate CBT, we specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on addressing thinking and behavioral patterns that may be keeping you stuck and preventing you from having the life you want. It’s a very goal-driven kind of therapy, so your therapist will work with you to identify what is currently a struggle in your life, and what you want to work towards to have a more satisfying life.
